It's been reconfirmed as an exclusive by multiple sources including Adam.

Note: I honestly don't like this marketing tactic. Labelling everythign as a console debute, including true exlusives seems wrong to me.

Here's hoping Square Enix still has that "release on as many systems as you can" clause so that I can play FFVIIR with a XONE controller...

"I can’t say the new game is completely action-based, but it has more of that element and real-time than the previous game."
“However, what makes Final Fantasy and RPG different from other games is that the players have the ability to choose weapons, capabilities and magic to be strategic minded, so while the new game has more real-time element, it will also maintain that strategy building element, balancing these two factors perfectly to enhance the gaming experience."
“The game is still in development, and we have not fully grasped all the abilities of and upgrades made to PlayStation 4. The graphics are superb on PlayStation 4, and more polygon volume is available to make it better.
“The way we harnessed the power of the PlayStation 4 was to maintain the graphic quality of characters like Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith in the movie called Advent Children in our game, and this was the starting point. So, what we’re aiming for with the Final Fantasy VII Remake is to have the same quality of these characters in real-time while playing the game, and this is only achievable with PlayStation 4.”

Those are pretty dedicated words...makes an Xbox One version seem even less likely.
On a seperate note, this could be the first gen where I actually start to play some JRPGs. Ni No Kuni 2, and FF7:R look really good.

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

If the over the top oddball that is FFXV can make it, I think FFVIIR should have no problems. As far as I know, FFXV is even heavier...

See, this proves it, all the "console debut" and "console exclusive" stuff that was on the screen was an error. It seems the only game they didn't say was exclusive, was Yakuza 0. KoF XIV was already confirmed PS4 exclusive, NiOH they said it was exclusive to their platform and Ni No Kuni 2 was said to be an exclusive. The only game that wasn't said to be exclusive was Yakuza 0.

I'm not saying that they couldn't do FFVIIR on the Xbox One, I'm saying it's interesting to hear them pushing the PS4 so heavily. Like, it would be really tough to then go "so, remember how we said we needed the power of the PS4? Well, here's the Xbox One version!"

I suspect the phrasing of "console debut" for Ni No Kuni 2 is probably because they might release the game on 3DS as they did with the original for DS. I would be hugely surprised if this game came to PC or Xbox one, especially PC. Low-budget Japanese games rarely come to those platforms.

Lol? Ni No Kuni is not a low budget game. The reason I don't see it coming to Xbox One or PC is because of the developer themselves. They only release their games on PlayStation and Nintendo.
