Forums - Nintendo Discussion - So, 13 seconds footage for Zelda HD during 2015...

Is that enough footage?

Yes 96 26.52%

No 266 73.48%

Total:362

I still think it's likely that the game will be released some time in 2017, perhaps with the console NX release.
The graphics shown just seem too good to be able to run on a Wii U, in my opinion. I mean, clearly, the lighting is done is such a way that it looks more beautiful than it ever would in-game (literally every trailer does this, though), but I dunno. Zeldas take a long time to make. Open-world games take a long time to make. HD games running on a new engine take a long time to make. I don't think it would be that preposterous if it needed some extra time.

In any case, if it comes to NX in any fashion, I will most certainly get it.

I have a feeling they keep adding in stuff/dealing with bugs. Then it causes the delays. But there is no reason for them to keep hiding the title.

Yep, we can think of a million of reasons to delay and all of them are valid, but why to hide it? There's no sense.

What's the point of showing game footage a year before the game's launch? They hyped everyone at TGA14 but in the end they didn't profit from them. At E3 Nintendo said they want to focus more on games which releases are closer. That's what they're doing with Zelda Wii U. It's a waste of money to promote that game that early. People will forget what they've seen and you have to show them even more later that it wasn't completely useless. In the end they would show too much from the game. And people won't have a "Wow" effect then.

Wii U isn't that weak as people think. If you develop a game for 5 years for it, you'll find ways to use its limited power in the best way. Especially since Nintendo themselves produce it and they know their hardware the best. It's a Wii U game launching in 2016.

They promoted Twilight Princess early and that didn't prevent to become one of the biggest Zelda games with amazing sales. Most hyped Zelda ever. So no, it is actually the other way around as the hype for Zelda HD has being go down as time passes and they don't show anything.

You're completely right. It's super duper suspicious that they wouldn't at least show us something. Even when they're taking a long time on a game, they give us footage. Going from a long animated sequence one year to literally nothing at the biggest game show of the year and only a 13 second clip at the end of the year... It's weird. Makes me think that there is indeed something afoot.

I really hope it's not just because they're putting it on the NX too, because that would be the obvious answer. On the other hand though, the idea that they're drastically altering some aspect of the game and setting themselves back at least a year is much more disturbing. They can't afford to be so bad with their development.

Xenoblade X was announced at January 2013 and during 3 years we have seen the progress of the game. I don't know how Zelda can't be the same. I also hope for the NX to be the only reason, because if it's other one I have fear...

Originally Twilight Princess was planned for 2005. Just like Zelda Wii U was planned for 2015. That's why they promoted it at E3 2014 and TGA14. After the delay they realized that it doesn't make sense to show this game anymore because there's a risk to show too much.

What about X? 3 years of footage and people was hyped. No risk at all. What about Ocarina of Time? No, there's absolutely no risk on showing "too much" when, in the beggining, they haven't show anything worth.
