Forums - Nintendo - 2016 will be huge year for Nintendo!

Is this true, or is this more your level of anticipation for the game? I certainly see a good level of excitement and interest for this, but biggest and most anticipated ever? I'm not sure.

The Nintendo theme park is a brillliant thing as gamers of all kinds will be keen to experience it.

A Nintendo game won "best family game"? Get out of town! It was literally between the trio of Infinity, Dimensions, and Skylanders or "cheaply made collectible figures + a new cheaply made game every year to keep you buying the figures" games , Splatoon, and Mario Maker. If Mario Maker didn't win, Splatoon would have. No one else even actually tries to compete in this space. Nintendo won this last year with Mario Kart 8, followed by Tomodachi life, and last year's verison of the same Trio. Nintendo wins this by default.

So they won best shooter this year? They also won best fighting game and best racing/sports game last year. Does anyone actually believe that Nintendo makes the best shooters, fighters, and racing games in the world? I'd seriously doubt that. As for best multiplayer - play Rocket League. That's all I really have to say.

Other nominees for developer of the year: Bethesda, Kojima Productions. Both of which put out a single game that lacked polish. Not quite sure how this is supposed to be a huge honour. Nintendo also won this award last year, beating Blizzard, Monolith, Telltale and Ubsoft Montreal (the guys who made Assassin's Creed: Unity).

This awards show seems like a bit of a joke.

Regardless of anything u said, the poster I replied to was using the Game Awards as proof that Nintendo is irrelevant, winning 3 awards and being nominated for 5 including game of the year and developer of the year proves that he is either wrong or that the Game Awards aren't an accurate way to determine relevancy.

They really aren't. Other award shows like Emmys or Golden Globes, even Oscars aren't either.

Jane the Virgin won a Golden Globe for best actress in a comedy series. It won several other awards, such as a People's choice award that is based on people voting. Yet it's one of the least watched shows on network tv, pulling about a million viewers each week. Veep won an Emmy for comedy of the year and it's ratings have always been bad. I could go on with more examples, but there is no point. Award shows can't determine relevancy.

Also, bookmarking this thread as it'd be worth seeing people's reactions to their old statements. As for my opinion, based on what me know, 2016 will be decent at best for Nintendo and perhaps amazing for the hardcore fans who are ready to praise their favourite company ( or provide excuses for it) no matter what.

I know, the person I originally responded to was saying Nintendo was irrelevant because of results at the Game Awards.

More my personale level of anticipation, but definitely its huge level of excitement and interest overall. If you look for every little new info about Zelda U we have multiplay new threads. :)

I'm not even sure that it is the most anticipated zelda game. I remember the hype surrounding twilight princess was huge. In terms of total explorable area it will most likely not be the biggest either (wind waker). Although it will have the biggest land mass by far.

Well today is much easier to make hype because everyone have internet almost on any device, you couldn't said same for time before TP was launch.

What it really boils down to is NX reveal, LoZ Wii U, and the account system (well, from what I took away from this).

What Nintendo fans should REALLY be excited for is:
Zelda U
Pokken
Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem
Star Fox
Mighty No 9
Bloodstained
NX news
Account system
Dragon Quest VII and VIII 3DS
Bravely Second
Fire Emblem IF
Monster Hunter X
Monster Hunter Stories
Final Fantasy Explorers
and anything else still to be announced

I always start thinking, as a Nintendo fan, that Nintendo has nothing to show. Everytime I see lists like this, I'm like, "oh, yeah, Nintendo's fine".

I'm even purposefully leaving things people will be excited for that I just am not like minecraft (One of the top 10 games of all time you know) and twilight princess hd.

Wow... the unified Nintendo NX. Would love for you to share that info you're privvy to.

Almost everything Nintendo said about NX and new platform and recent Nintendo patents are pointing to unified platform.

Well I guess we should expect a touch screen controller with buttons thumbsticks coming through the screen and shoulder buttons as indicated in this recently published Nintendo patent, since you know every patent Nintendo makes in this period obviously points to the technology found in their upcoming console according to you.

Nem, don't bother. This guy has taken one or two sentences from Nintendo PR, a couple of patents made in the past two years, and constructed an entire console platform and development ecosystem in his head. He's ignored the other patents that don't fit with his idea. He has ignored all of the history of how  patents and pr speak leading up to a console announcement does not nececcarily indicate anything definitive, and in fact some times completely contradict the console that is announced, ignored plausible other scenarios presented of what the NX could that fit prefectly within the PR sentences he clings to that would result in an entirely different console than he has imagined in his head. He literally thinks he has it all figured out and there's nothing that has been said that will make him even consider that he could be wrong. On top of all that he doesn't seem to understand why everyone else doesn't take these things the exact same way he does.

It's completely and utterly pointless.

I can't wait the for NX to come out and perhaps knock people like Miyamotoo down a couple pegs and teach them lessons about jumping to conclusions.

Yes, I have idea what NX will probably be based on what Nintendo said and some recent patents that are connected with their talk. And guess what, you have lots a people that having similar idea about NX same like me.

So I relly dont see whats so strange about that!?
