Forums - General - What British TV programmes are popular in America?

I got this idea because I am watching Peep show and think America might like this programme.

So what British programmes have made it accross the pond?

Do you have programmes like Blackadder, Red dwarf, Monty python, Fawlty towers, etc...

Around the Network

Monty Python definitely has a strong cult following here. And I've watched some of Fawlty Towers and Black Adder, but the following for those is much smaller. In terms of modern TV shows, a bunch of my friends watch Dr. Who and Torchwood, which actually air on networks here...

Sadly, Coronation Street. *Shivers* My mom watches that...

coronation street, monty python come on in canada.

o yes also sky sports my fav british channel. i also like dream team

BBC World News.. Oh yeah... exciting stuff.

Hello

For the ones i instantly think about there are :
American Idol (us version of the original uk Pop Idol)
The Office

Bye.

Zones : I still don't understand all the love for Blizzard, what was the last game they developed worth playing?

Top Gear...fifth Gear not so much.

Peep show is great, it should be spread about the world for all to see.

I would laugh if Brass Eye was broadcast over there, I imagine it would offend an even larger percentage of people than it did here.

 Erm, The Office is British?

The BuShA owns all!

I watch Office UK and Extras. (I love Ricky Gervais). Like Lolita, quite a few members of my family like Coronation Street.

I try to watch or listen to the BBC world service at least 4 times a week. Unfortunately, the CBC (Canadian broadcasting corporation) uses the American feed of the BBC world news, so 50% of it is about the American primaries.
