Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Doubutsu no Mori: amiibo Festival review thread

Am I a bad person for being happy with this? I felt like Nintendo threw shit at my face when announcing this during the Digital Event.

No it doesn't make you a bad person, and you're certainly not alone.

This game and Federation Force were big middle fingers to Nintendo's fanbase, and the response to their Digital Event was overwhelmingly negative.

Hopefully this game is a flop and they learn their lesson.

Nintendo should be ashamed of this mess. Hopefully it will wake them up a little bit.

We all knew it was going to be bad, and sadly it was made as a means to sell amiibo and cards.

fleischr was right, it scored worse than Devil's Third: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=206543

I don't even get the appeal of mainline Animal Crossing games and this one looks like one of the most boring games ever made. Maybe it could get big as a miracle cure against sleep disorders. I fell asleep in the middle of the day when I watched 20 minutes of gameplay footage.

Too bad it will sell more than Wonderful 101 and Devil's Third together.

Its so weird to think that Nintendo this year has released stuff like Splatoon and Yoshi, but as well trash like Devils 3rd and this.

It´s a low year. No question about it. But thankfully Yoshi, Splatoon, SMM, FFV and probably Xenoblade are worth while.

Wasn't this game supposed to be a free download and you had to pay only for the amiibos?

Because all this talk about "flop" and "will sell better than (insert game here)" is getting me confused.

It's funny how we as gamers forget that some games are made strictly for children. I'm not buying it but my Daughter wants it because she is 10.

100% agree with this, if it aint made for "gamerz" then it sux. My daughter would absolutely love this, and I would probably get it for her eventually. God forbid that children are allowed to enjoy a game aimed toward them.

In my review of the game I gave it a 2.5/10 because it fails as a Party game and it fails to properly invoke the Animal Crossing feel. A lot of other reviewers scored it low for the same reason. This is a poor excuse to say "But its for Children!" you know what else was geared towards children? Sonic Boom, and most reviewers and children hated it. Same goes with Amiibo Festivl.

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

Sad thing is that reading all of these low scores is probably more fun than playing the game itself.

You, sir, just made my day

Suddenly any game aimed at children is automatically a high quality game? This game was compared to a standard of party games and animal crossing game (games for families and kids) and was found to be bad. It's not like the reviewers are saying "you know, I found that the quickscoping and wall riding in this game bad ... 2/10..."

Nintendo scored an all time low on metacritic with this
