Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Doubutsu no Mori: amiibo Festival review thread

My favorite argument about this game is that its the "perfect game to get kids into Animal Crossing." How do you think we adult fans got into Animal Crossing to begin with? As kids a lot of us played it on the GameCube. I remember playing the crap out of that game 4-6th grade. I didn't need a crappy board game to sell me on it.

Games like this are a cancer of the industry.

It's funny how we as gamers forget that some games are made strictly for children. I'm not buying it but my Daughter wants it because she is 10.

I totally agree. Not every game can be made for everyone. This looks like an easy fun way to get young children playing a game and introducing them to some of your more popular characters.

Yeah this shocks no one. Nintendos party gameshave sucked all gen, penny pinching till the nx id assume.

Well I Have to DISAGREE with you on that one. I had soooooo much fun playing Nintendoland, Wii Party U and Mario Party 10 with my friends. Like how we just get soooooooo serious on it, especially Bowser Party in MP10.

Pocky Lover Boy!

I wonder if anyone involved in the development of this game suggested that they just make an actual Animal Crossing game...
It's hard to tell if the Amiibo figurines were made to support the game or if the game was made to support the Amiibo figurines...
I knew things were going to be bad when the island survival minigame they described in the Direct sounded more interesting than the actual game...

Have a nice day...

From expierimentation its not. I had my friends kids play it and they found the game to be dreadfully boring. They wanted to go back and play Mario Party 7 again.

It looks dreadfully boring. I'm not a party games hater, in fact, I somewhat enjoy Mario Party 10. But, if you mix a relaxed and charming franchise with a "party" game... I don't know, it's like the both things don't quite match.

Tbh you would think that the developers would have at least made this game their take on The Game of Life, then I think it would have had a chance of being a competent board game. I mean this game is no Fortune Street or Dokopon Kingdon.

Clearly, this game is trying to steal Monster High: New Ghoul in School's thunder.
But to be fair, I was expecting this game to be mediocre. I was not expecting it to be downright terrible.

That's not an excuse at all. Just because it's for kids, doesn't mean the game has to be garbage. There is much better games out there for kids.
