Forums - PC Discussion - Versatility is Why PC Gaming is My Main Platform.

I like PC gaming because I can keep my hardcore porn next to my hardcore games or even in the same folder.

And I can also mod my games to blur the line between the two.

That's all you need!

So where are your option to choose a different graphicscard and cpu other than Nvidia and intel if you really want to max out a game? where is the option to buy a drm free physical game for almost every relevant game? Where is the option to use a different platform than steam if many games arent avaible in other places?
PC has a lot of limitations as well, and it doesnt take as long to find them as a pc gamer.

I prefer playing older console games without emulation on real hardware, they maybe run with lower resolution but therefor glitchfree.

AMD would be the obvious answer to your first question (yes, you can max out games on AMD hardware), but both Intel and Nvidia release a range of CPUs/GPUs even at the high end.

Alternatives to Steam? I guess GOG, Green Man Gaming, Gamersgate, Amazon and Origin would be some obvious ones.

Those limitations don't exist if you actually know a bit about PC gaming.

1. My GPU is AMD (r9 280x.) :P But if I wanted to max things out I could always crossfire. Where can you buy an Nvida GPU for your PS4? That sounds awesome!

2. Never heard of cracks?

3. Where is the option to use a different platform than PSN. XBL?

The fact that I can do schoolwork and whatnot all on PC is enough said.

I don't like PC gaming because it's not convenient and their ar risks of games not working. I also don't want to pay $2000+ for a gaming laptop.

Simplicity is why console gaming is my only platform, after abandoning PC gaming several years ago. Scientific computing? Lol.

 Scientific computing? Lol.

Do you need a definition? I do this daily as part of research project in my field (physics) and some computational physics courses. Hoping to go to graduate school in computational astrophysics.

"Scientific Computing: software design, algorithm implementation, and software analysis, testing, and optimization."

+1 to the OP.

All it takes is google search and a basic knowledge of how to use a computer to download a patch or a fix - if people cant do that, they need to learn computers 101 :O

Also lol @ $2k laptop - dont buy alienware, buy an actual good branded laptop like Asus.

HP makes some pretty nice laptops.

I helped my sister pick out one with a quad core i7-4790k with 16 GB ram and some decent Nvidia Geforce graphics. It was for the price of 1000, which(honestly) feels like a huge steal.

A crappy 1.8 GHz macbook can probably be 1,200+ XD

How much did your Rocket League machine cost you??

Including my old GPU that had to be replaced and my 3 new monitors I'd say about 4k Euros. Probably gonna build a completely new one next year if Pascal surprises me. Except for my new GPU my PC is more than 3 years old.

Then again, just recently I bought a 4k Euro TV just for my consoles, so that evens things out.

I can see why you were offended with that other thread using the word ultimate.

You are the ultimate!
