Generally, yes.  But for a good reason.  My mac right now came with tons of applications (Address Book, Music Editor, Calendar, IM Client, DVD menu maker, Movie editor, Image editor, Music organizer, Presentation maker, Word Processor, Mail client, built-in mic and camera, Internet browser, etc).  Every mac comes with all of this for free.  Plus I've owned a Mac for 15+ years and I've had it freeze about 4 times and I have never run a virus scan or picked up a virus (And trust me, I've seen the whole internet).

Well I use macs for post-production work, which they're very good at. You can also install windows on a mac if you wish so you can play all the games you want.

I'd rather install OSX onto a pc, much cheaper.

Before you start thinking Mac is going to take over the PC, please look at the internet browser stats for OS's.

http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_os.asp

The Mac percentage actually went down from January. In fact Linux isn't that far behind the Mac.

Mac is a piece of hardware, not an OS. All Macs that have been sold over the last few years run both Windows and OSX. I am on a Mac Book Pro right now, with both OSX and Windows running at the moment. I browse this site with my Mac, as I like posting with it better (Safari has a built in spell checker). I think the new FireFox has it now too, but Safari has had it for a long time.

I use IE in Windows for browsing my work site. It's IE only. You can't tell I am even running windows, as the IE icon sits on the application bar just like any other app, and comes up in it's own window, just like it's a native application.

Parallels is awesome! :)

You can install OSX on a normal pc

Mac laptops are cheaper then any other vender when you compare the same stats (actually, some of the states you just cant get on other laptops). They are priced VERY competitively, and are the best built in the market. The only problem is you are required to buy a high end laptop. The don't sell a low level model. Even the Mac Book is a very capable laptop.

Mac desktops are the same, but there "low level" desktop starts at $2,500. If you do to Dell and spec out the same thing, it will cost you more, but who wants to spend $2,500 on a desktop?

Apple really needs to make a consumer level desktop without a built in screen.

my 17" laptop is two years old, and drives my 30" 2560x1600 screen and my 1680x1050 built in screen no problem. I can even run WoW full screen on the 30" display and browse the web on my laptop screen. All from a 1 inch 7 pound metal laptop with backlit keyboard, built in webcam, great sound system, and world class OS.

Two years ago, there was not a laptop in the market that could do all that, other then the Apple.
