Forums - Gaming - Shooter King: Destiny (now with content), Halo the un-killable or COD the juggernogg?

Blops is the most popular... But it's the lowest in actual quality. Less story than Destiny, less fun than either Bungee game.

The real King of Shooters? Bungie.

CoD hands down.

Destiny beat all first person shooters released this year on Metacritic.

If I ever have the money to purchase either a PS4 or Xbox One the first game out of these three I will buy is Destiny: The Taken King. However, to answer the question given, the biggest game franchise right now is still Call of Duty. The last COD I actually enjoyed though was BO2. I don't foresee myself buying another Call of Duty game in the near future.

Titanfall, once it goes multiplat, and once they put in a tacked on SP campaign.

Gotta give EA a shot at this.

LOL, can you explain the criteria in which 85 rated Destiny "beats" 85 rated Halo? I'm all ears.

Anyways, in terms of quality I would rate them Halo >>> current CoD >>>>>>>>>> Destiny.

CoD quality is just going to be so hit or miss. We know the Treyarch ones will be solid, or great if you enjoy zombies. The Sledgehammer game was.. ok I guess. The IW ones will probably continue to be garbage.

Of course, in popularity I think it's easily CoD >>>>>>>>>>> Destiny >>>>> Halo. Two mega huge multiplatform games versus an exclusive.

Because the avg. 85 of Destiny is bigger than avg. 85 of HAlo 5 lol

You know Meta uses decimal avg. but shows only the round... so when you sort the list you get the rakning in decimal order like Destiny could be 85.6 and Halo 5 85.4.

That is how Metacritic works.

BTW I only used the 2015 list: http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/score/metascore/year/all/filtered?sort=desc

In the all the time list Destiny is 1166th and Halo 5 1276th... over 100 positions difference... that means Halo 5 is near 84 while Destiny is near 86.

I like the cut of your jib.

Once it goes multiplat people are going to go crazy for Titanfall. Imagine the enhanced movement and gunplay of CoD only without incredibly shitty spawns, camping, or 2 bullets to die.

What I will do then is, re-do this thread after it goes multi platform. It's going to be a tough battle for first place with such a good selection of shooters. I think there is space for all of them though...

The biggest? Call of Duty for sure. Halo doesn't stand a chance because it's exclusive to a platform with a pretty small instal base.

As for quality, it depends if we're talking about single player or multiplayer. When it comes to single player, I would prefer this years' Call of Duty. The developers actually tried something new and the story feels fresh and rewarding. I actually lied in my bed thinking about the story CoD told me! I'm not kidding! On top of that, the game has Split-Screen multiplayer, Halo does not. The story of Halo 5 is also pretty generic, the devs could have definitely made more out of that.

Well, when it comes to multiplayer... I still prefer CoD, sorry. =D

So overall, Call of Duty wins in my book, but that is purely subjective of course. As for Destiny: Never played the game and I don't care about it.

Also, in a few months Counter-Strike will again hold the crown of most active players. Well, Battlefront might take it away for some weeks, but in the long run, Counter-Strike wins. Counter-Strike always wins.
