Due to recent developments concerning the ownership of this massive franchise, the canonicity of the main character in this game (and everyone else's naturally), as well as the events portrayed, have sadly become a point of concern. In this game, the main character recklessly seeks out a force he laid down in the previous game to avenge the supposed death of his partner. Unknowingly however, this leads the main antagonist to this same secret valley as well, so he can have his troops reborn in his image.

Hint 2: The words "force", "valley" and "reborn" in the first hint are important to consider.

Hint 30...

Lesse, this was the first real 3D game in the series and it was really fun! And while the 2nd game was pretty good, after that the series has continued to fall from grace, making questionable gimmicks and just really bad games. except for maybe 1 or 2 games..?

And the one with '3D' in the name, does not count as a 3D game... ; )

Hint #31: In this game, the typical main villain ends up swallowing the protagonists, and after this you end up "allying" yourself with the person who swallows you to defeat a greater evil.

I haven't played it to know, but it sounds like what I've heard from Bowser's Inside Story.

#31 - GBA game in Japan, DS game in the US, re-released for the Wii, 3DS and iOS in both. Wii U only in Japan.
