Well there's no "maybe" about it, because NX will be "next gen". The hardware will more than likely be more powerful than PS4, just like Wii U was more powerful than PS3. It just matters as to how MUCH.

Wii U is "this gen", as in XBone and PS4. NX is just going to be an earlier release of next gen.

And as for Steam machines? Well, they kind of need to be powerful if they're going to play high end PC games.

The existence of the WiiU and dramatically stronger PCs didn't stop people talking about the graphics of games like Halo 4, TLOU, and GTA5, so i fail to see why a repeat of that situation would have a different outcome.

Graphics and visuals in general have been a talking point for decades, and will be for several more. It might not be the ultimate deciding factor in the success of a game or console, but that doesn't make it unimportant. We wouldn't have spent the last 40+ years perpetually improving graphics if nobody cared at all.
