I dont see why you think that Xenoblade X will be far better game than Zelda U when every 3D Zelda game are great and Zelda U looks like it will one of the best Zelda games. "There has not been any good Zelda game since Ocarina of Time"!? I consider Ocarina of Time not only best Zelda game but best game ever, but saying there has not been any good Zelda after OOT is BS. I still need to play 3D Zelda game that isnt "any good", every 3D Zelda game is great (you have officials and players revives like fact), even if OOT is better than some later Zelda games. |
But Xenoblade Chronicles is a masterpiece and so far Xenoblade X has also been getting a lot of love. Thre is no reason to believe it couldn't. In fact, if we asked what was the better wii game Skyward Sword or Xenoblade Chronicles there ould be a LOT of people that said Xenoblade Chronicles.

Xenoblade Chronicles had 60+ hours of pure AAA storyline (without sidequests) but the story in Xenoblade X will be much shorter, however still comparable to an average Zelda game. |
Yeah, but most of the useless fetch quests (at least what I read) can be skipped. and it still takes around 150 hours to complete.
Realistic graphics = more ambition by the OP logic.
Basically it proves my point that Nintendo developed epic games and currently they are into the colorful graphics, thus less ambition, thus less epic. Thanks to prove my point.
Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever
Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe
Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor
Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Look, I really don't want to stick a dagger into X which I'm really looking forward, but people are making me have to do that. Have you seen the graphics in X? They're poor - particularly in exactly the two things you mentioned - details and texture work. Some of the scenery looks fantastic from afar, but get close and the details and textures really show the game up (not to mention the character models). If Zelda Wii U delivers graphics of the quality that we've seen until now, it will have objectively better graphics than X - and it probably took them the same effort to get a great-looking cel-shaded game as compared to Monolith's meh-looking realistic game.
There's nothing ambitious about X's graphics, whereas Zelda's graphics are definitely ambitious - I've yet to see a dynamic game like Zelda go for an art style like that.

If you look opinions in this thread you will see that is main reason why people are not agree with that OPs logic.

Regaurdless of opinions, the details and texture work are still better than that of LoZ.
*Edit* I also feel I should say that there is a lot of eye candy that Zelda U is pulling off which is VERY impressive. Animations will be hands down better in Zelda U. But in no way does that mean it will be a more ambitious title in whole than Xeno X.

You shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
All current Japan version reviews suggest that Xenoblade X is a very good game but Xenoblade Chronicles Wii is better. Most critics do not like that the story is only 12 missions long and gets interrupted with mandatory boring side quest missions all the time which are up to 6 hours long. The game is not focused on the story as much as the original Xenoblade which is not a good thing.
Regarding Zelda, the art style is childish and resembles Wind Waker which I could not play for that reason. I would love to see something more realistic and the gameplay should evolve into the direction of Dark Souls a bit.
