Wii U has plenty of amazing games.
1) Splatoon, Xenoblade X, W101, Bayonetty 2...are telling that you are wrong. I don't understand what you exactly expected from new Mario Kart because this probably best Mario Kart ever. Mario 3D World is completely great new 3D Mario game, I agree for NSMB (that game relly needs break).
2) Splatoon was only initially low on content because Nintendo decided to promote that game with periodic released content, we know that lot a content was locked on disk. Pikmin 3 maybe could have one or two more levels but we have great Mission Mod that adds lot a content to game.
3) Don't understand, both are great games.
4) I really can't see how you can compare Xenoblade with Fallout 4/Witcher 3 or Zelda U with Horizon!?
5) Agree, but that doesn't mean that is always bad thing, Star Fox Zero could be even better game because of gamepad.
"Smash bros U is the only Nintendo wii u game that I can say, without a doubt, matches the quality of previous smash games (or any Nintendo classic)"
NSMBU best NSMB game, Pikmin 3 best Pikmin game, DKTF best Donkey Kong game, Mario Kart 8 best Mario Kart game, Smash Bros best Smash Bros game, Yoshi Wolly World best Yoshi game after first Yoshi game, Zelda U looks like will be one of the best Zelda games ever.
Nintendo is still making phenomenal game, and this gen they made some of the best games in whole franchises prove that, but you cant expect that anyone (not just Nintendo) make revolutional games like they were in 6. and 5. (espacily 5.) generation beacuse those were first 3D games that opend whole new world to gaming, and games from those generation are consider for some of the best and more important games ever (Mario 64 and Zelda OOT). So today is really hard to make games like that, but again Nintendo still making some completely, new, fresh and great games, last example is Splatoon.
Nintendo this gen had lots a problems, terrible launch and sales of Wii U, bad launch for 3DS, first HD generation, worst Nintendo generation in sales...but Nintendo again manage to make phenomenal games despite all those problems.

1) Bayonetta 2 and wonderful 101 are not made by Nintendo. Xenoblade is not out, and given its reception in Japan, it is not the same hit that xenoblade once was. Splatoon is a game that falls under the potential not fully drawn out.
As for Mario kart 8. Balancing was done well and anti gravity was interesting, but it doesn't make up for the fact that Mario kart 8 has a horrendous local multiplayer. Likewise, Anti-gravity was not as game changing as double dash was (double riders were also excluded due to hardware limitations). As it stands, double dash is still king, and although Mario kart 8 isn't bad, it plays it safe without taking huge risks to really improve the franchise.
2) low content does not mean that a game is bad. Pikmin 3 still stands as one of my favorite wii u games, but I was still able to beat it in a few hours. I agree with reviewers in that it definitely could have used more levels. Splatoon has gotten better (online custom matches), but it still has a horrendous local coop, and a voice chat option was still never added.
3) Mario maker is finally the game to make the best use of the gamepad. Unfortunately it is still a bit limited on the level design creation. Hopefully they add more in future DLC. Nintendo land is solid, but it could defintely have used an online mode, and more minigames.
4) Xenoblade X is an open world RPG just like Fallout 4 and witcher 3. Zelda U is an open world action adventure, like horizon. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to both games, but seeing what the competition is offering, Xenoblade and Zelda aren't wowing me like I'd hope.
I'll repeat, smash bros is the only one to perform as well as it's predecessors. The soundtrack has pretty much a $60 value. The roster is a whopping 50 characters with few clones. Online is a bit laggy, but definitely playable and satisfactory. Story mode is gone (sadly) but they put in tons of single player content to make up for it. And the best part, they listened to the competitive and casual community, striking a near-perfect balance of pace and balance. Aside from overpriced dlc, Smash has very few problems.
Mario kart lacks the great local multiplayer of it's past entries. Pikmin 3 is a significantly short game. Xenoblade X is apparently not the same hit as the original. Starfox is an atrocity. Mario 3d world (assuming we consider it a true 3d mario, which I don't think it is) removes exploration from the past entries.
I'm fully confident Nintendo has the ability to do better. But it seems like they aren't taking risks and want to just quickly throw out games for the wii u. I'm still waiting for games on par with galaxy, skyward sword, metroid prime, smash melee, double dash, Xenoblade Chronicles, kid icarus uprising, pokemon

1) It doesnt matter if Nintendo didn't make them, your point is that Nintendo is playing safe, but they invest in Bayonetta 2 and W101 and that wasnt safe at all. Without Nintendo Bayonetta 2 wouldn't exist at all and W101 is Nintendo IP.
Mario Kart 8 has solid local multiplayer, but battle mod is bad. But in other way game is better than Double Dash, not to mention great online play. Game is considered for one of the best games this gen and best Mario Kart ever, but you think different.
2) Pikmin 3 does not have low content, Mission Mode gives hours of additional gameplay. In few hours!? I played main game around 15-20 hours (with all fruits). Like I said Splatoon has locked content, and mean time we got more content, so you cant say in any mean that Splatoon have low content. Splatoon is game with focus on online play, so who cares about local multiplay. Voice chat is minus for Splatoon, but you talked about Nintendo games are low on content, bad things about Splatoon.
3) Yes, Nintendo made huge mistake with gamepad, they literally don't know how to use it and they released on few games that are using in good way, but there was never good potional about gamepad at all.
4) Again I dont see how Xenoblade X and Zelda U are outshined by those game (especially Zelda), fact that are running on much stronger hardware only tells that they just have better graphics.
This is pure fact, but you can ignore if you can again:
NSMBU best NSMB game, Pikmin 3 best Pikmin game, DKTF best Donkey Kong game, Mario Kart 8 best Mario Kart game, Smash Bros 4 best Smash Bros game, Yoshi Wolly World best Yoshi game after first Yoshi game, Zelda U looks like will be one of the best Zelda games ever.
Maybe Mario Kart does not have local multiplayer like previous games but have best online play and its better in any other way than previous games. Pikmin 3 main story could be little longer but definitely not "signatory short". Xenoblade X is maybe not big hit like Xenoblade was in Japan but first game also didn't receive to well in Japan. Star Fox is an atrocity!? Why because don't have best looking graphic on Wii U!? I think games looks very fun and variety, we will know more when came out. Mario 3D World is true 3D Mario game and actually it has more exploration than Mario Galaxy game which are more linear. You did not mentioned at all probably best DK game and best Yoshi game after first Yoshi game, also you somehow missed first HD, true open and biggest world Zelda game ever. :)
Nintendo is making phenomenal games this gen like previus gen and they do taking risks (Splatoon, Xenoblade X, W101, Bayonetta 2...we could also say that Mario Maker and Star Fox Zero are also risks with gamepad integration). Zelda U looks like it will be better game than Skyward Sword, Smash Bros 4 is one of the best Smash Bros games, Mario Kart 8 is without any doubt better game than Double Dash, we have Xenoblade X, we dont have Kid Icarus or Pokemon but we have Splatoon and Mario Maker...only thing we will not have is Metroid Prime (I think project was moved to NX), and Mario that is on scale of Mario Galaxy (even if Mario 3D World is great 3D Mario game, Mario Galaxy is more "epic" while Mario 3D World is more fun especially in multiplayer).
