Daft article, the whole console gaming audience is switching to PS in general why would any genre be an exception.
This gen was wrapped up with a ribbon on for Sony, when MS said no more sales figures.

Where are the numbers?

We all know that without numbers everything is just PR spin. Right?

If your going to bring that attitude to a thread your better of not commenting.

Isn't that the standar procedure for every anouncement?

If they don't give hard sales numbers there is no fact, just PR.

That's just the impression I had with Halo 5 $400mi revenue thread.

Ok its a press release and?

Titanfall - an exception.

Wolfenstein - not a big game

FarCry - They had marketing rights

PS4 is becoming the house to basically every genre this gen.

the..... hahaha...... the "Andrew" house of every genre hahahaha............

*silence*

*tumble weed blows by*

....... I'll get my coat!

Well, I think xb1 is more shooter oriented than ps4 but since ps4 has a huge lead against xb1, that really help give playstation 4 the edge in total FPS sales.   I still believe COD is more popular on xb1 although I expect the gap to be much closer than last gen due to much greater userbase.

Ive read a few of your comments, why not ignore the theads like these and the silly comments? You get to easily worked up.

As a game enthusiast I like reading the comments... but your right, this sites been giving me a headache for a few days now.... Its almost like the release of a AAA game on Xbox brings all the clowns out. Gamespot / IGN are far neutral. Might go there for a while.

Cool see ya! One less "game enthusiast" leaving backhanded comments on this forum.

OT: Sony does seem to have quite a few FPS' that users are flocking too more so than in the past. What's important  however is that they offer a varied catalog  to choose from and don't keyhole themselves into a shooter box type of mantra IMO.

It's the shame that MS used to be a home of fps & racing genre last gen. Now Sony became the leader due to strong ad and cheaper during E3 2013 day.

PS4 is everything.

Another case of Sony being rewarded for doing swat all put put a couple of stickers on a console and buying a couple of extra hours of gameplay. Sad.

It makes sense since MS is not as strong in that genre since they used to.

I think once the PS4 starts snowballing, xbone will become a wasteland kept alive only by multiplatform efforts. It might even drop below Wii U once the PS4 makes having an xbone redundant.

I've never heard such rubbish in my entire life. I know this site has been going downhill for a while, but this sort of logic is dismal....

Sony did squat. They squatted on simply making a system that the most people (including devs) asked for.

MS braved the storm and decided to make something everyone was actively pushing back against.

Also, yeah, Sony did do a lot to secure the biggest shooters they could. MS did so last gen and gained a lot of traction. Sony learned a lot from the 360 strategy. Really anything that could be said about the current gen, could be said about the converse previous generation. 360 was simply the console that made sense, ps3 was a shot in the dark. It's uncanny how mirrored these two gens are.

The results are what they are.

Makes sense to me.
Push behind Destiny, CoD and SWBF.

I do think Sony should be pumping out their own FPS but I guess they see no need if 3rd parties cover that for them.

They still put out killzone and soon to be matterfall. I'd rather they personally handle 2 or 3 shooters, and have there teams diversify into other genres. Having Guerilla work on Horizon instead of another killzone was a good call

A brand that has had the best diversity of games since it entered the gaming market(in my opinion regarding home consoles) is getting even more diverse...er by adding the shooting genre? You don't say.
