Forums - Sony - Media Molecule Dreams Interview (French)

I don't understand French but these snippets translated by someone over at Gaf caught my eye:

No date is set yet and Alex assures us that Media Molecules prioritizes the final quality of the game against a release date. The news is still pretty good because we were shown the trailer for No Man's Sky remade in the game and the result is stunning!

Alex then talk about some technical details about the game, we will learn that the beta will require a mandatory connection (understandable since they need meta data), and he does not know if this will be the case for the final version. Actually he would love it mandatory because the game is mainly based on the community, but he knows that this may put off some players, so it's in talks at the moment.

We also learn that the library of dreams and objects will be subject to a rating system. We can therefore "upvoter" or "downvoter" items to bring them (or not) forward. But rest assured, there will be a safety, eg the opinion of people "downvotant" whatever they find will have no value, while individuals with good assessments shall be more influencing votes.

Bumped for you boring lot.

The PS5 Exists.

Oh damn! I want to see that No Man's Sky video!

Edit, did you post this in the other Dreams thread?

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Take a close look at the Cookie Kung fu fighter or the boxer.

This looks so cool...I really want to see more about the animating though. Because from what we say at PGW, it looked a little clunky, so I'm not sure how you would do a fighting game.

Funny, i was just going to make this thread

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

He didnt translate all the interesting informations, here the rest if you want to put it, i dont translate often but since it's Dreams, it deserves it :

Our first question is to know " How do we create a dream ? " To this, Alex answer we will be able to create absolutely anything we want from a basic model ( geometrical shapes)

We wonder then if it wont be too hard for casual gamers ?The answer is no. Of course, not eveyrone has an artist soul, but Dreams offers to put a tag (« car », « tree », « house », etc…) on each object so they can reinforce a library opened to anyone who wants to use it.
The gamers wont be forced to create objects by themselves, instead, they will be able to look for others creations. Moreover, they will also be able to ask for help to the community : for example, they will be allowed to ask a house in a particular style and wait to see the creations we make for them.

But what happens when someone update a creation already used by other players ? MM planned everything : If someone updates a creation, a message will appear in real time for other users « This creation has been updated, do you want to keep the former version ? ».

We then talked about activities, could it become boring if we just have to walk watching others dreams ? The answer is no because the game offers much more than this ! If for example, you create an object "car", the engine will automatically detect it's type and will make it dynamic... So, we will be able to drive it.

That's it, you already have the rest

The amount of background work that this engine is going to need to do is going to be immense. I'm so excited for this game and I trust MM but damn, a lot of things need to fall into place for this to be the game we're all hoping it's going to be.
