How about they stick with Basketball preseason?

smartest and most cost-effective way. That way players can give a decent game, and no one will care at all if it's preseason or regular.

I greatly dislike it too. It's too hard on the teams and messes up their following games as well.

If NFL wants to create an EU league at some point then it should just stream (live/recorded) free games to EU of the US games. That is how you garner interest with maybe an off-season exhibition game.
