Forums - Nintendo - What's wrong with entertainment?

Don't worry. Once official info starts to roll we'll spam the complete VGChartz. I estimate 10NX threads per minute.
It's going to be legendary.

The NX... will play ... videogames!

And the forum crashes due to threads XD

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I'll tell you what's wrong with entertainment when you tell me what's wrong with using the enter key!

Yes because you have absolutely no right to tell me what to read and what to ignore. No right at all.

I don't like rugby. But I don't have any quarrels about others discussing it. What little of it is discussed here on this gaming centric forum doesn't push important discussion topics down. If 10 of the hot topics were rugby-related, i'm sure many users will start getting pissed too.

OP is complaining about the inability to post new threads on NX predictions. Would he be offended if I told him to not come to vgchartz if he doesn't like their rules? I hope he would be, it wouldn't be my place to tell someone to pretty much 'f off'.

And on topic, it's not my fucking exacting need is it? It's a preference of the majority, or atleast a healthy portion of vgchartz that the overabundance of a topic is affecting their enjoyment of this site for differing reasons. Mine is that these topics have no substance, not enough to allow for hundreds of threads. Others may differ, but the end result is we would like to see less of them. It's fine to ignore one thread, but when it's usually 5 or 6 on the main page, you can't ignore it, it's pushing relevant content out.

No one is losing out here. Gather in one thread and share ideas. If that thread dies, then truth be told, no one really wants to discuss predictions, they just wanna say their prediction and run.

I hope you can see how different this logic is to your original logic (I'm referring to the 3rd paragraph). And it makes much more sense.

But truth be told, I can't remember a time when there was more than max 2 NX threads in the hot topics at one given time. And I think you're exaggerating. And if you're exaggerating, I have the right to tell you to ignore one or two threads, as you yourself conceded is fair and reasonable (underlined, words being "it's fair", which it is). And if you tell me I have no right to demand that of you, then it's my right (and I would be right to say) that you're being unreasonable and unfair.

Hai capito?

I too see around two at most, theres been alot of threads but not an overwhelmingly amount to act like its unbearable. Its a gaming site and were worried about nx threads so we can make more room for what political, football, world series, and other radom events?!?! Also this fireburn guy is crazy talking about how he doesn't want to be censored but then desires it for the nx community posting on this site. Jamming all  conversation into one thread to shut them up is censorship! Some people like to talk about power and chips and go into great detail about that way more than I know and that might be there thing but not what others want to talk about. It could be sales, potential time frame of release, or launch games all different discussions that should be allowed to have there own space rumor or not. Pikmin 4 was announced to be in development why cant we speculate or predict on it. We shouldnt have to rummage through hundreds or thousands of post in one thread to get the info we want! Also if there so many threads and posts wouldn't that mean that there's alot of people that are interested, i mean if there's smoke there's fire so there's plenty of people who want them.

We actually have rules on quality of OP and content; most NX threads fall far short of these. I can understand perfectly well why mods want to crack down on the amount of them, most of them are not good and as such aren't providing the site with the content they most want.
They do the same for other topics as well, I know since I've been a mod and have had to lock a bunch of threads and admonish the community to gather topics into one, larger thread with actual traffic and to steer clear of obvious bait or BS and OP's with low quality.

I personally don't see any entertainment in dozens of threads with ever so slight variations on the same droning speculation and (often silly) ideas, regardless of topic.

You know what, I have a solution:

Let's rename the site "NXChartz."

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

This is a clever way to trick me into reading an NX thread. I've avoided all of them so far. Bravo, sir. Bravo.

I agree with you here.  I never go into those official threads because I can never find the information I want to read about.

Some of those threads are in the thousands and no ones here ever minute to see the new info they want. So then they got to go back and shift through way to much junk!

If there is actual important news. Three things happen. Another site gets the news faster, you read it there first. Then someone posts the news in the main NX thread. You read that. Then the news section here get's it. But then you don't need to read a ton of old post. Go back back a few hours when the news came out. Catch up on those comments. Post your thoughts. If you follow the one thread, you've already read the past posts. So it's not really 1000 posts. It's maybe a few hundred, at most. When new info comes out. What is the problem again?

Its maybe a few hundred?!?! That's my problem. Read a head line for a new rumor discuss it for a day or more and move on. We don't need a big massive thread were info gets lost.
