Or it could be the more simple explanation that the Fallout 4 bundle is the only one the mainstream core give two craps about :P .

It was constantly getting outsold by the Gears Bundle until recently and now the Gears Bundle is falling and the Fallout 4 Bundle is rising. Yes, you could put that down to the release of the game, but then you'd have to aknowledge a sudden late rush, which lends itself to the notion something very recent help push it harder. Only three days ago, it looked like this:

#11 PS4 Black Ops Bundle (up 1)
#16 XB1 Gears Bundle (down 1)
#25 PS4 Nathan Drake Bundle (same)
#27 PS4 Star Wars LE Bundle (up 3) [Back in stock on the 17th]
#36 PS4 Star Wars Standard Bundle (up 1)
#42 XB1 Fallout Bundle (down 1)
#45 XB1 Three Games Bundle (up 1)
#52 XB1 Madden Bundle (down 1)
#53 XB1 Kinect Bundle (down 9)
#68 XB1 Halo Bundle (up 1)
#97 PS4 Fool's Edition (same)

Now go back and check how long that Black Ops Bundle has been hovering around the top spot. We're not talking about a small franchise here, we're talking about a huge franchise with a bundle and marketing deal. Something suddenly spurred those sales and I doubt it's people waiting for the last moment 'just because they can'.

XBO elite console is ahead of ps4 at GameStop. It's the most expensive bundle available. This is interesting. Why in the world would it be so far ahead of the FO4 bundle on launch day? Also, ppl are retarded (*looks at #12 and #18*)
XBO elite ($499) is #7
Ps4 NDC #12
Ps4 NDC + FO4 #18
Ps4 BO3 #34
XBO FO4 #38
Ps4 SW LE #42
XBO GeoW #51
Ps4 SW regular #80

Well, the review embargo lifted on the 9th, that could be part of it.  A bundle purchase is a larger financial obligation, added security of good reviews would help push that.  The performance could influence it, maybe, but I just don't see it doing much.  The core of the core are the ones following news close enough to get sucked into such a brief flurry news.  And Fallout 4 has appeal well outside that relatively narrow group.  And the people following news that much are also going to have the sense to wait and get confirmation.  Of course, maybe I'm just putting too much faith in humanity there :P

You're putting too much faith in humanity. The PS4 framerate news went viral and was on Twitter too. Hit Twitter, you hit 'EVERYONE'. I'm not saying that's the ONLY reason of course, and everything you've said will definitely have had an impact. I just think that little extra boost to push it ahead of the Gears bundle this late in the day is related to the PS4 framerate news to a large degree (put not entirely).

Yeah, I suppose I'm just a big idealist under the cold, cold shell of my heart :P

But one other factor to consider is gift buyers.  People buying these things to stuff in their attic or something for the next month and a bit aren't likely to preorders or be desperate to have it the second it launches.  AND non-gamer gift buyers are less likely to care about which platform the game is on and more care about which platform has the better deal/bundle.   So that could also explain the jump.  Of course, it's likely a mix of all the above.

Look, I don't care how high you stack your little trinkets, I have a huge ass Oscar and it STILL weighs more!

You took that banter seriously even though I included an exclamation mark to make sure you didn't? Come on, we're both on the same page here, except I'm the heading and you're the footnote ...

(that was also banter) :)
