You need to look at that Amazon listing again it clearly say by Microsoft under the title.

A quick google search will show you that MS is publishing the game.

excerpt from the article.

Xbox head of marketing, Aaron Greenberg, has confirmed that Microsoft is the publisher for Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox One.

The news was announced via Twitter when a user asked Greenberg who was publishing Rise of the Tomb Raider; Microsoft or Square Enix?

Although there are no details about what the arrangement entails – such as what elements of the game Microsoft is covering, be it marketing, development, or distribution costs – we reached out to Square Enix and received the following statement.

"Yes, Microsoft will be publishing Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox. Microsoft has always seen huge potential in Tomb Raider and they will get behind this game with more support across development, marketing and retail than ever before, which we believe will be a step in continuing to build the Tomb Raider franchise as one of the biggest in gaming."

Are you in any way, shape or form saying ROTR won't release on PS4?

What?!? No! what the hell?!? It was already confirmed that the PS4 would be getting the game a year from release date on the Xbox 1. I'm stating that MS helped with developmental cost (more that just marketing cost) and they are listed as the Publisher of the Game.

I also clarified my earlier post that comparing this to deal with Sony's Street Fighter 5 deal was wrong. Because Capcom seems to be the only company that keeps titles that have received outside funding to specific consoles with a PC release. Xbox1 got Dead rising 3, PS4 gets Street Fighter 5.

I think Black Ops 3 will end up selling more on the XOne .

Basicaly the same thing that happened with Destiny.

The marketing cost are usually way higher for a game like this, than the full cost of production. The usual sweetener is to reduce the license fee for every copy sold.

At the end of the day, there is no way CD can win with this one. The game will flop this week. The adverts, which usually people watch and then go out and buy the game on their system of choice will not have that affect. Then a year later, they will have to take a good chunk of their profits and advertise the game themselves.

Next year they will be stupidly releasing into the same crazy launch window yet again. No doubt against the likes of Horizon, Last Guardian, Mass effect 4, GT sport, Final Fantasy 15 and the usual big multi plats.

CD have pulled out their own knife, and performed their own Hara Kiri. I'm not sure this series will ever recover now.

Also Dark, you think Destiny has sold more on XB1 world wide? Or have the forums got you with the - yeah but 8 billion digital on XB1, like every thread seems to be? At the same time 0 digital sales on PS4 for Destiny, that sounds about right.

I don't think Destiny on XB1 has outsold the PS4 version whether physical, digital, US only or Worldwide. Cod however might be a closer story. Though I doubt Activision will lose any sleep if Cod sells 50k less on PS4 in an area with 1/3 of the consoles overall sales. They will be too busy counting the rest of the worlds sales, where it will not even be a relevent.

The stand alone retail version of Destiny sold more the on Xbox, if you include digital and the bundles, it definitely did not.

Acording to NDP reports Destiny sold more on the XOne for each month it charted.

And don´t bring WW to a Amazon US thread. It´s pointless.

Bundles it´s possible for last year September. But since then I´ve never read any Sony or Bungie statment.

Would you mind posting the source of digital sales?

MS is not the publisher of the game, they are the publisher of the Xbox One/360 versions meaning they are in control of the promotional proceedings and/or other rights as well.

VGC only has a 300K differential for Destiny, which is definitely within the error margins that could allow X1 to have sold more copies, especially via digital sales. For reference sake, 300K only represents a 13% digital sales percentage, and Bungie announced a 20% digital sales percentage.

Tomb Raider at #38 two days before launch. Yikes.
