They probably overstuffed the channel with the inferior bundles, and the retailers just didn't have room. That's the downside with overstocking. Space costs money.

Retailers put the order in don't they? It would surely rub the retailers up the wrong way if MS dictated what they should have.

Microsoft has a habit of pushing an agenda. Usually cutting a deal if they order a certain amount of X, Y, Z. So most probably did, and then filled the remaining space up with the cheaper bundles. Microsoft has a lot of clout, and it seems they have been flexing it.

I was a little naive with my comment.

Saw this at Best Buy this afternoon.Tons of Xboxs stacked during BF.No PS4 in sight besides a couple.

Not looking good.

For whom? The console that runs out can't sell any more. The console with lots of stock may not have sold much, but if it's the only thing left in stock people might just decide to buy their second choice console because they want something at least.

For Xbox.Last year at the same store there were less Xboxs and not tons of them stacked the afternoon of BF.Some of those consoles have to be from the past two months as well.I am sure everyone got their first choice console,it just was not the Xbox.

Considering ps4 is a good bit bigger in the UK than Xbox retailers would at the very least accept the same number of ps4's as Xbox's.

I think that's a bad sign for Xbox that the ps4 sold out way faster.  the pile of tomb raider bundles makes sense.  Reports everywhere suggesting people not interested at all.

Here's today's update to the monthlies:

PS4 Star Wars basic bundle: #14 (—)
PS4 COD bundle: #18 (—)
PS4 Star Wars LE bundle: #19 (—)
PS4 NDC bundle: #23 (—)
XBO Gears bundle: #25 (—)
XBO Fallout 4 bundle: #27 (—)
XBO 1TB Holiday bundle: #64 (↓2)
XBO Madden bundle: #80 (↓1)

I almost thought it didn't update because only the bottom two SKUs moved any, and even then only barely. I guess the monthly rankings aren't actually quite up to date, as they don't start until several days into the month and still keep getting updated several days into the next month. So, we'll probably see the effects on the BF sales here in a couple of days.

Probably on next friday... and they will still take some more days to finish week 3 of reports

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Some more bundles out of stock: PS4 COD, X1 Lego (already was?) and X1 Fifa
Basically now it's just NDC + SW standard for PS4 and Gears + 3 games holiday for X1.

so excited, sounds like it payed off for sony to actually be competitive this year.

Could be wrong, but i think the Elite is also out of stock.

Interesting month, I had a feeling Playstation would have stock issues. But I think it is to the wire this year....

I think the PS4 will win Black Friday and November.

The PS5 Exists.

Personally, I'm really curious to see how the yearly chart looks like after BF. Last year, the PS4 GTAV + Tlou bundle shot straight into #88 on the yearly chart. I think the NDC bundle can go higher, because volumes should be higher+it's had october and rest of november sales as well.

Keep in mind there's two NDC skus, the digital and the disk version, the digital was the one available through october and most of November but it's not longer available, the disk version has only being available since Black Friday weekend started.
