Forums - Gaming - What are you reasons for saying Zelda U will be able to compete with PS4 type visuals?

On a graphical level, just like a game from any console or portable from SNES/GBA and onward with superior art, design and animation, and well thought out use of color, shape and scale. On a technical level, mostly with Nintendo's sublime shader engines.

For people saying no one ever said it (what OP claim), we have at least 2 (or 6) people on this thread claiming it.

Art is subjective. I think Wind Waker HD looks better than most Wii U/PS3/XBOX360 games and that's just a remastered gamecube game.

Yes we get that to find it pretty is subjective... but it isn't that the point of the OP and not what some were defending here. That was more on the technical side.

Nobody I've seen in this thread claimed that. Honestly, we've barely even seen anything from Zelda U.

No one Wii U game can't compete with any PS4/Xbox One game on technical level of graphics because huge gap between power of hardware, but because of great Nintendo art style Nintendo is using and optimisation, there are some Nintendo Wii U games for which we can say that they are beautiful like any other PS4/XboxOne game even if they lack some technical staffs like AA, some effects, details...those game are Zelda WW HD, Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, Yoshi Wolly World and Zelda U.

Simple comparison would be Horizon and Zelda U, for both game we can say that are both beautiful even if Horizon is much more technically advanced with AA, more detailed graphic and effects, but despite that Zelda U still looks beautiful and not like game from previous gen.

Are you ignoring goodnightmoon and some other guys for some reason? He said Mario Kart look better (on tecnical level) than most PS4 games.

LOL I knew it, I knew someone said Mario Kart 8 looked better than most PS4 games. I was going to reply to someone who said no one was saying Wii U games looked better, but I'm glad I wasn't imagining it.

Nintendo has a knack for picking the right art style and making the absolute most of it to make beautiful games on weaker hardware. It won't be as graphically impressive as what is possible on other consoles, but I've little doubt it will look beautiful all the same.

You'd be twisting their words then. You guys are getting angry at imaginary things. Rather amusing.

I said it looks better than a lot of Ps4 games, not "most ps4 games" and i didn´t say that it looks better "on a technical level", so stop lying or learn to read.

My point was that some wiiu games look good enough to not feel out of place on a Ps4, independently of the hardware resources the machine is using to move the game, titles like Mk8, 3DWorld or Zelda U look good wether they are on a wiiu or on a Ps4, and they even look better than a bunch of Ps4 games, even if those are more hardware demanding. But the only thing some of you seem to understand is that I´m saying WiiU graphics are superior or some stupid thing like that. Again, learn to read.

It can look better than PS4 games, but won't reach the same technical specs on some PS4 games

Think Art v's Function

It's just smart use of textures and cell shading. If you were to strip the polygons down to wire frames, you would see less than half the polygons in PS4/XB1 games.
