Forums - Gaming - What are you reasons for saying Zelda U will be able to compete with PS4 type visuals?

It simply will not be able to compete. No mans sky and horizon seem to have the larger, more detailed world, while maintaining just as colorful art style. Smash bros and mario kart 8 are the best the wii u has, but they would barely qualify as decent looking ps4 titles

This of course says nothing about gameplay

There are tons of Ps4 games that look worse than MK8, just take a look to Tales of Zesteria. Mk8 would be a  good looking game anywhere, with only a bit of antialiasing and higher resolution it would fit perfectly on PS4.

And also Smash the best graphics on WiiU?  Pikmin 3, Captain Toad, Mario 3DWorld, Yoshi´s Woolly World and Bayonetta 2 disagree with that.

Zestiria is a PS3 port.
"The PlayStation 3 was chosen as the original platform of release as the next generation of gaming hardware had yet to take off in Japan in terms of sales, and Bandai was unwilling to take the risk."

Yes but is a Ps4 game, and there are a lot of Ps4 games from Japan that suffer the same. And I don´t care, I like Tales of Zestiria artstyle anyway, but that idea that any wiiu game on Ps4 would look like completely ugly, outdated and out of place is just wrong, there are several wiiu games that look better than several Ps4 games already. Like seriously, if you get this on your Ps4:

Would you think is outdated, ugly or out of place? Because I think this looks good no matter where and independently of how many hardware resources is using.

By being an NX launch title plus dat Nintendo magic.

No it will have a hard time beating PS3 is finest titles in the graphics departement if you ask me. PS4 titles are not even an comparison to everyone telling themselves that it does look better than PS4 titles from a graphical standpoint are truely devoted to Nintendo.

Everything looks beautiful from far away. Upon zooming to face it showsbtrue color. Lol.

Where did you even hear that crazyness? If it's on the Wii U (which I assume from the U title), not a chance. On the NX, who knows.

And no matter how much people say truth won't change. Wii U is just a weak console than PS4. Market have rejected it, fans have rejected it and winning in a "gaming forum" won't change the reality.

Just what we've seen so far already looks better than most PS4/Xbone games, imho.

I love cel-shading.

Technically, it surely won't be better than TLOU PS3, I don't think the Wii U can do better (and that's not the point of the console anyway).

However, the art style will most likely look good, and so the game will look good. But no, I've never seen anyone saying "Zelsa U will compete with PS4 visual", and it won't. Artstyle and graphics are two different things : you can even prefer a PS2 game if you want (Okami for example), but it doesn't mean that it competes with PS4 visuals.

Let's compare on high budget title in development with another. Take a random shot of Horizon Zero Dawn and compare it to Zelda. It's not a match since when are we counting remasters and current gen ports to a graphic discussion. Graphics discussion is a battle of the finest not the worst on system A compared to best on system B.

You want to compare Zelda with a PS4 title that's fine but take a game in the same league. In this case an open world high budget exclusive. Not a lazy port or a remaster, I am not saying it looks bad but definitley not mind blowing especially if we count the whole trailer where many graphical effects are not visible when zoomed in on the action. Especially the nice lightning is pretty much off as are higher resolution textures.

I don't care how powerfull a machine is, if a game looks good it looks good. The artstyle is what makes it looks so good. I really like the colors used.
