With portables, the DSL is outselling the PSP 4.76:1

With consoles, the Wii is outselling the PS3  5.94:1

The PSP has sold enough to be considered a success despite the DSL's lead. Over 22 million PSPs sold can't be wrong!

But... you gotta wonder if the reason why Sony hasn't killed off the PS2 is because it is the PS3's life-support?

PSP will reach 40mill worldwide probably. and the ps3 below 10k is a worrying situation

No, its because they are actually making money off it. Why kill it off at all? Gives consumers a cheap alternative to the PS3, and money to Sony.

Nocturnal is helping companies get cheaper game ratings in Australia:

Wii code: 2263 4706 2910 1099

If they killed off the PS2, more users would probably switch to the Wii than the PS3.

But that cheap alternative is being bought and the PS3 is being ignored. Then why even have the PS3 in the first place?

You can't buy Xboxes anymore, as they aren't being made. If you want the Xbox "experience" you have to buy a 360...

But as FishyJoe said, more users might take the Wii route (not that they haven't) - I think that is a more compelling reason for Sony to keep cranking out PS2s - to fend off the Wii onslaught as much as possible.
