Forums - Nintendo - NWR: Mario Tennis Ultra Smash Wii U not great impressions (basically, a rushed filler)

Are you buying it?

But it has Rosalina (like every other Mario game recently ) in a mini skirt...

...in HD!

Was going to buy it but all the recent gameplay seems bland.

-In GC era, i used to gather my friends for hours of smash bros, mario kart DD and mario tennis. On Wii U we have a a great smash bros, a great mario kart(both better than wii's), and also, we dont have a proper wii mario tenis, so i was waiting so long for the wii U mario tenis! they finally annoucd it at E3!

-I dont care that much about the menus, and my friends also dont have a wii U or are not buying mario tenis. Im hoping more for having local multiplayer fun (like i had on CG mario tenis), than for the other features.

-in the digital era they can always bring an atualization or DLC for fixing some issues add the missing charm and bring a better experience. they have done that with tha last games like splatoon and now with super mario maker.

-so, i still not gave up from this game!

And it's interesting to note that it's one of the prettiest Wii U games to this day. If only they polished the gameplay/options/online as much as the visuals...

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Well, this puts me in a dilemma. I want this for Rosa, but do I really wanna support this laziness on Ninten's part...? : X If I can play with friends online, I would probably be okay with it...

Yup, gamexplain's video really confirmed my suspicions. I might buy it for like $20, but let's be honest most Nintendo console game never get that low, so I doubt I'll ever play it.

Still waiting for Strikers.... or hockey

W101 tanked in price in a few months.  I bet this game will get to around $25-30 by March on Amazon.

I might still buy. The problem is that the game lacks options, but the tennis gameplay itself seems to be solid (impressions from Nintendolife). Local multiplayer is why I'm interested in this game to begin with (maybe the occasional online match) so not to bothered about the lack of singleplayer options. Amiibo integration seems pretty cool.

Of course I would have liked more content but I still think it can be a lot of fun to play with friends. Also I don't expect it to be full price.
