Hmmm, thought they had just said that they were looking into it.
I know these things take time, but for all we know Nintendo could have been already working on a Pikmin or zelda movie or tv series, for example, for some time.We dont know how advanced they are with their plans. They could release a movie next year, for all we know. What i meant by "knowing Nintendo", is that they dont mind taking their time to do a product they believe in, even if it means losing a release window that would best suit for it.A easy example would be Zelda U(games and movies are different i know. Its just an example). So they usually take more time to do things than most companies, not always, but happens.Thats what i meant.
But yeah, if they did manage to release movies, open the theme parks all by the nx launch, or close to it(3 to 6 months after), that would be a huge marketing move for the NX, not to mention that it would bring rivers of money to Nintendo.

I think the earliest timeline is early 2015/late 2013. I think the earliest we'll see a movie will be holiday 2017, and I think it would be wise for it to be a Mario movie.
Oh, I see. I assumed it was the typical "knowing Nintendo, is it's smart, they won't do it" response.
I definitely don't think either will be ready at launch. Not even launch window. What really matters is that they are well known by launch. When you start seeing trailers for these huge juggernaut Nintendo movies, that's what will be important. And by the time you start seeing those and getting tangible info on the theme parks, there will already be hundreds of millions of active Nintendo Accounts. Initially it'll be thanks to Miitomo and NNID transfers, then NX early adoption. Once Nintendo becomes more clear about the kinds of benefits My Nintendo has on Nintendo World and especially movies and TV shows, that bubble will absolutely burst.
"World domination" is a petty exaduration, but the intention is correct. Whether you believe they will be successful or not, this much is absolutely clear: Nintendo is not trying to be modest. This is an extremely aggressive, calculated, massive move. Nintendo is literally trying to become a super power company. Like mentioned in the same breath as Disney and Apple respectively. Possibly bigger, honestly. I said it from the beginning - their focus right now is world wide brand awareness.
They are literally the only company in the world with the infrustructure to do something like this. They have a closed platform like Apple with the content and IP of Disney. No one else has that, and Nintendo knows it. I kept saying this - mobile is not a move to make money. It's a move to get people talking about Nintendo relevantly again. It's a move to shove Nintendo abruptly into pop culture relevancy. People are scoffing at Miitomo right now as if social apps aren't the most dominant apps on the App Store right now. The five games by 2017 have to be grand slam hits, and Miitomo is very obviously designed to be one.
Miitomo opens up the door for other mobile games because people will already be signed into the My Nintendo ecosystem. When they finally launch Mario iOS, there will be millions of people already signed up, insentivised to play because of points they've been earning, and friends who are also apart of My Nintendo. And that immediately means that more people will play, but more importantly see Mario. That's the goal get Nintendo's name and Nintendo's IP in as many hands as possible, and make sure those experiences are positive, so that masses are talking about them positively. Like Angry Birds.
And, again, mobile isn't the only avenue. It's just an important one. So much focus is being put on mobile as this isolated thing to make fast money, when it's really one part of a much larger goal. People should be looking at mobile the same way they look at Amiibo, the theme park, movies, TV, and commercials. That's how Nintendo is looking at it. Brand expansion and improve brand awareness. And that's a big initiative.
And that's purely on the brand side. That's not at all mentioning the actual NX platform and the hardware this is all meant to rope down to. All this stuff is purely talking about part of the "Disney" (merchandising) half and part of the Apple half (Apple IDs). It's not at all mentioning the main course, which is the dedicated video game platform and its premium software ala Apple's iDevices and iOS platform and Disney's blockbuster movies. Good, forward thinking hardware and firmware design with the high quality software Nintendo already does, intandem with these initiatives, is where the real power lies. And they are taking all the right steps. If that rumor about Retro is true, they are taking even better steps than I thought they would, and my speculations are already bullish. This is a Nintendo that gets it. Like really gets it.
Literally the only thing that could compete with something like this, were it successful, would be if Apple and Disney had a merger and Disney content released exclusively on Apple devices. And even that would be weaker because the most of the desired Disney content is, by nature, multiplatform already.
