This.

Its too expensive not only to develop but for consumers to buy. Why would consumers pay more than a PS4 for a system that doesn't have nearly as much games to play? Answer is they won't :P

Lot of consumers buy new iphone/samsung/etc every years, this cost more and add almost nothing, i think VR can be buy per a lot of gammer if they can test this and there is a few game who please them, enough for be successfull.

I am not really into racer, last one i played was on ps2, but i know a racer in VR will make me crazy want to play this.

Yes, however this is because phones like the IPhone and having the latest phone is simply the trend with younger adults and older adults as well. VR is not a trend and probably won't be.

I edited a few ^^ but maybe the trend wont be there, but when i talk with my mmo guilde on TS, at least half really want one (i talk about many VR not only psvr) now many won't have money for early buy, but at end i really think this will take ground for make more generation and more buyer.

VR is definitely the future and the high price of entry won't be as big a barrier as some anticipate. This is, after all a technical revolution for the masses.

I still can't see it becoming a huge thing and personally I'm not even excited about it. Well if it will be something like the sex scene from Demolition Man then it's cool, I wouldn't have to get my hands dirty anymore.

And like OP said, if they make travel VR experiance, imagine go in japan for 50 and visite there... or any country.... from my country for a 2 week orgaNIZED trips on japan this cost me 10'000$ so a ps4/VR will cost nothing ^^

Phones as necessities, though. VR is an expensive accessory to an already expensive luxury device. It's the equivalent to buying an Apple Watch when the only Apple device you have is an iPad.

Perhaps half might want it, but the pricing is still pretty heftly, and you have to doubt that many big games would be made with the cost of development, and the amount of games it will be able to offer. It would be difficult for the consumer to justify that price tag. Its like 4k resolution in TVs, wait until prices drop and more companies support it, althought i have to doubt that will be the case with VR.

Well my girl friend still have this 8 years no smartphone phone, i still have my galaxie S2, buy a new one is not a necessities at all unless you want gaming on mobile and you need last one ^^

I don't know how multi quote so to b00moscone, well the problem for 4k tv for me is not the price, its there is no physical support for this (like blu-ray) or game ^^

But anyway, i just hope this pick up, in no way i am sure of this and you may be correct, i just have little more faith ^^

I would love to play a Visual Novel like game, where you can interact with other characters, create an history, and become part of it.

A survival horror game would be neat too.

They should make a game of phobias, would be entertaining to watch.

well GT Sports with PSVR support is a sweet appetizer. i want to try it before i buy, but if the experience is anything like i'm imagining, man i will buy the crap out of that...
