Forums - Sony - Sony World Wide Studios is entering Beast mode. insane amount of exclusives

I really need a Motorstorm PS4 announcement to make me happy. Is there even a current gen off road game available yet?

Around the Network

PSX will announce a new game from Santa Monica.

About time

The crazy thing is that Horizon has managed to beat out Uncharted 4 as my most wanted PS4 game. Can't wait to get some more mileage out of my latest console purchase.

Signature goes here!

Major Correction: Wild sheep studio is independent studio. Sony is funding Wild and they own IP.

Fact: Owner of wild sheep studio was ex-ubisoft employee and is making anoither game for Ubisoft simultaniously.

I remember this now, and thanks for correcting me.

Still, even though it's not made by Ubisoft (apart from correlation being that Ancel was a head designer at Ubisoft), and even if the game is funded by Sony, it still doesn't make them second party. That would be like saying that Platinum is second party to Nintendo (because of Bayo funding) or that Capcom is second party to Sony (because of SFV funding).

Technically there is no such thing as "second party". However, 2nd party is used when the IP (eg Wild or Ratchet&Clank) is owned by the plattform manufacturer (Sony) but developed by a studio that is not a subsidiary of the plattform manufacturer. SFV is not Sonys IP, neither is Bayonetta owned by Nintendo.

Hunting Season is done...

Next year is gonna hurt. Like, "I need a 60 day vacation from absolutely everything but video games just to catch up" hurt.

I don't disagree that we're seeing some nice shaping up
But to counter balance, some complainers

2nd party:
Where is Deep Down? MIA.

1st party:

I seriously hope Guerilla Cambridge isn't JUST making Rigs. They were hiring in 2014 for a "multi million IP" so maybe I don't have to worry, but we'll see.

Deep down isnt second party. Not only is it third party it's capcom. For all we know that game may never see the light of day. I don't even think capcom know what it is.

Just making RIGS? I don't think you realize how important VR is to Sony or can be. Especially if Sony can establish PlayStation as the primary VR platform. And from all indications, I'm gonna assume you must (like many) have never tried VR before.

But here's an if, what if PSVR goes onto to sell 10M units in its first year on the market and rigs becomes its killer app. Would u still consider it as a "just" endeavor then?

Sony rips off Portal 2 and Minecraft.

There aren't so many, but the handful listed are very interesting.

Minor correction: Wild is an exclusive, not a second party game. It's made by Ubisoft.

its not. and its even being published by Sony.

Ratchet & Clank isn't 2nd party. Sony owns the IP.

You're missing 2 first party downloadable titles
KillStrain - Free to Play title by SCE San Diego
Hardware: Rivals - Internal team in SCE London

You're also missing a few 2nd Party Games Published by Sony.
Rime
Shadow of the Beast
Drawn to Death
Wattam
What Remains of Edith Finch
Hot Shot's Golf PS4
Guns Up!

It's also crazy how we have another Sony conference in just 1 month and we'll get even most 1st/2nd party titles.
