adult friendly??
I'd say, ask your kids first.
And then buy a WiiU anyway :)

That's deluxe, not premium. Meaning that it's region locked to Americas.
E: It means it doesn't work in Europe.

Yeah VR could be the "it" thing to own soon, your kids will be the cool ones with a PS4 and a VR set.
Aged 1-11? A Wii-U. Don't be one of those parents that just give in to society and let your kids play violent shit. Get them something that is aimed for their age.
Ok, so the choice is between PS4 and X1, because Minecraft is a thing with them and you already have a Wii(U?).
So by going with Minecraft I'm guessing your kids are interested in being creative. They want to play Fifa to have some fun.
Have you thought about setting up a little desk with a PC in the living room? With PC, the sky is the limit when you want to learn, play games, do your work, etc.
They might need a PC for school anyway, and with the PC being in the living room you can keep an eye what they're doing (and who they're interacting with) more closely. There's a huge selection of age appropriate games too there.
The Wii U is the best one for kids imo. But really none of them are great for younger. I recommend getting more Wii games or buying them a DS or something.

The countless LEGO games, sports games, Rayman Legends, Gravity Rush 1, 2, Ratchet and Clank, Tearaway, Dragon Quest Heroes 1, 2, Dragon Quest Builders, Dragon Quest 11, Kingdom Hearts 2.8, Kingdom Hearts 3, Dragonball Xenoverse, Gran Turismo Sport, Driveclub, Littlebigplanet 3, and dozens of downloadable games like Flower, Journey, Minecraft, etc. The Last Guardian will probably be rated T. Also if they like or want to try the more niche JRPG titles there's games like Tales of and Disgaea. Edit: Also all 3 original Uncharted games are rated T so you can get the Uncharted Trilogy. Not sure what Uncharted 4 is rated. |
Well the Lego games are mediocre at best (I have few of them) and I'm after higher quality games than that. Games can't be heavy on text (don't care to read and the likeliness of text being on language they don't understand is high).
And the games need to have multiplayer. It's pretty pointless anyway use your console (only) to play single player games. But thanks for the list, I'll check what the games are.

I think you can make it work in EU but you just have to import all your games =P
But if you're really set on White just buy the Basic and add a 32 GB USB stick.
I did exactly this because I found a White Basic on sale and the 32GB USB stick cost me $15.
I was able to download bigger games like Metroid Prime Trilogy, Darksiders 2 and Fatal Frame V demo because of this USB stick.
If it's for the kids, Wii U or Xbox One is the best even if they play with their family or friends. But they could only like a few games from there cause most are complicated ones or not that fun for kids. I prefer buying them a PS Vita or Nintendo 3DS.
