I didn't say they wouldn't cut the price. I'm just laying out the facts as they exist.

Anyone who thinks I'm happy about the currency drop is sadly mistaken. It cost me a big chunk of change, just like it has Sony and Nintendo.

Well ,if the 360 price drop had been very succesful we could be looking at Sonys price drop of their own in the next month ...but seeing as it has been for the moment quite mild I think Sony will rest comfortably for some months now .I think that they will say something at E3 ,though .

The day or week after the next 360 price drop.

That's my prediction for the U.S., anyways. No clue on the European drop, though since I don't believe they've had a single price drop (though the 40gb unit did come out for less money than the 60gb), it might be about time with the 360 price drop over there.

I doubt we will see a PS3 price cut unless they need to! Microsoft have had to cut the price of the 360 to compete and it is working a little in the UK, but not sure the whole impact in EU. If the sales of the PS3 start going down, then they will consider it after a while, but until then, I doubt they will do anything.

Remember, they have GT5P, GTAIV and MGS4 in the next 3/4 months and these 3 games will make sure sales are high for a while.

Although I do reckon that Sony could make one swift move to demolish the 360 by making a huge $100 reduction in the next 6 months or so. Although I reckon the best time to reduce the price of the PS3 is nearer the end of the year.

So I reckon...unless they need to, it won't happen until around October this year and it will be significant:

$299 in the US and £230/£250 in the UK.

My guess is sometime in 2009.
