I doubt we will see a PS3 price cut unless they need to! Microsoft have had to cut the price of the 360 to compete and it is working a little in the UK, but not sure the whole impact in EU. If the sales of the PS3 start going down, then they will consider it after a while, but until then, I doubt they will do anything.
Remember, they have GT5P, GTAIV and MGS4 in the next 3/4 months and these 3 games will make sure sales are high for a while.
Although I do reckon that Sony could make one swift move to demolish the 360 by making a huge $100 reduction in the next 6 months or so. Although I reckon the best time to reduce the price of the PS3 is nearer the end of the year.
So I reckon...unless they need to, it won't happen until around October this year and it will be significant:
$299 in the US and £230/£250 in the UK.

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.
PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)
PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)
