If MS is still being outsold by the PS3 after the massive price cuts in Pal and the price cuts in Canada. Then the PS3 is in no need of a price cut, Sony must be laughing right now. MS made a move in it failed, the balls in Sonys court now and they have all the time in the world to act.

It's conceivable that Sony could drop $50/50EUR in April, when GTA4 hits the digital streets.

Right now, they don't need to. Most sales take place in October-December, and that's when the PS3 will definitely be $299/299EUR. It's either two $50/50EUR drops, one in spring and one in fall, or one single large drop in fall.

We shall see...

I don't expect any price drop before October. But I expect some "deals", maybe some bundled games (besides the MGS4+DS3+80Gb we already know of) or some other promos, but most likely no price drop. Actually, the MGS4 bundle is a great value at $499.

For me the PS3 is priced right. It might seem a little expensive for most consumers but it's actually not that bad. It's just a Wii+3 Wii games so it's actually a great value for what you get since HD, Blu-ray, Gigabit Ethernet+WiFi are all standard ;)

yea I have to tell them about the new bundle ,and they all love MGS series.

Actually one of them said when ever MGS comes out i ll get a PS3.

I am just wondering,,are there lots of people in the same boat as my friends?waiting for another price drop before they buy a PS3?

to me it offers alot for the price,but I obviously not all epople think like I do.

not actually a date but i thik when the 360 starts selling like the ps3 did since begining of 2008 if it doesnt the a few months b4 xmas this year

Microsoft made their European price cut to gin up some interest heading into the release of GTA4, Sony could counter with a slight price cut (say $50) closer to the launch and with that fresh in gamers mind that don't yet have a PS3/360 they could steal a lot of sales that might have gone Microsoft's way. Then later in the year they can drop another $50 for a big holiday season.
