It's conceivable that Sony could drop $50/50EUR in April, when GTA4 hits the digital streets.
Right now, they don't need to. Most sales take place in October-December, and that's when the PS3 will definitely be $299/299EUR. It's either two $50/50EUR drops, one in spring and one in fall, or one single large drop in fall.
We shall see...
