Forums - Gaming - Why PS2 era graphics are my favorite

But Human Revolution's gameplay was pretty good, wasn't it? It still had an old school feel and not too much "modern" automated bs.
Maybe the enemy AI was too old school...

And the graphics were reduced and clean, too...

Talking about Deus Ex PS2: Wasn't the gunplay terrible because the original was created for mouse controls?

Modern automated bs is exactly the main reason I dislike it - health regen, 3rd person takedowns, 3rd person cover, item highlight, mission markers. I know some of those things can be turned off, but then it becomes even worse. For example if you turn off item highlight it becomes an OCDers nightmare. If you turn off mission markers you become a mouse in a labyrinth.

I love the PS2 version and the controls. Ever since I discovered the PS2 version I can't go back to playing the PC version anymore, I don't care that it looks hundred times better with mods, it's just too tedious.

A desk in Deus Ex original:

There is nothing redundant in PS2 graphics, the games look good enough and you can concentrate on the most important - the gameplay.

All those redundant textures! In the early '80s you could even more concentrate on the most important - the gameplay:
