Happy 15th birthday PS2. You were quite the beast during your time ; )

1. I like it : ) I wouldn't say a lot, as it's not one of my preferable systems, but it has games I really like on it.

2. Hmm, it fairs pretty well. Rank wise, it would be among my top 5. As a console overall, it still holds up plenty today.

3. Still got 2, a US one and a Japanese one.

4. Last games I played were Fatal Frame 1, 2 and 3, for the Dark Room series I started earlier in the month ; )

Great console!!!

It's one of the bests, only dethroned by the mighty PS3.
I have two slims.

The PS2 had the most diverse and deepest library of any system I owned, and it could play DVDs which was big deal 15 years ago. I rate it as the greatest home console ever made. Mine is in storage and has been for about three years when I stopped playing it completely.

I remember saving for 16 months to get one at launch and then they had massive shortages and I sat with SSX and Tekken Tag games while my PS2 was on back order for two agonizing months.

By far the best 3D video game console, and the best along with the SNES. I would love for the ps4 to be even half as good as the ps2 in terms of having a vast, diversified library full of quality games. ps2 deserves as much praise as can possibly be given. it was a masterpiece and a big reason why gen 6 will forever be the best gen.

1) I could only play one game before it died of old age. I bought my PS2 very cheap years after my Wii.

2) Again, one game. It was Shadow of the Colossus though, so it was a great experience.

3) Goodnight sweet prince. Hello emulator.

4) I'll play its enourmus list of RPGs someday. I have a decently long list of games I already own that have yet to be beaten.

Playing just one game off the amazing PS2 library is a crime... but then it is the amazing Shadow of the Colossus so I feel I can't say much.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure why I did that. I think its because I thought StarOcean was a badass name v.v XD

I didn't get that far in Psychology, but I have to wonder if maybe this was a case of self-sabotage. :P

Kudos PS2!

The white pillars are your save files btw, they probably disappeared because you had your memory card either unplugled or deleted or files or had a empty one. They grow higher the more you spend times on the games, and grow in number the more save files you have.

There were instances when I did some of those things, but then there were times when they would just "rest" and white pillars disappear.

I thought that maybe I got to a point where the screen was too crowded and it sort of automatically resets, erasing all white pillars, but I never got to make the screen crowded with white pillars like it appears in the video I posted in OP. It's a mistery.

Most sold console ever, one of the best consoles ever.

I buyed used PS2 fat last week for around 8e and chipped it for 8e, and I am really happy. :)

Did you play on the console first or are you rebuying it or something? Share impressions if you haven't played PS2 before once you get the system! :D

As far as I'm concerned we could still be using PS2s today instead of ever having moved on

Everything was more simple those days, wasn't it?

I did not see this video at first.

Was that in France? I'd swear they are speaking French.

There's like a little girl or a small woman that apparently is being crushed by the costumers and you can see how one of the clerks raises her and brings her to the center, apparently to protect her.

Messed up scene... but I love to see people going crazy for things PlayStation. xD

I'm kinda in the mood to boot mine and play some random obscure japanese ps2/ps1 games on stream.

That's a great idea, specially if those games have no footage available in YouTube. Sharing videos of unknown videogames help other people to get to know them and know they exist and helps chronicle their existance, like evidence they existed.

I remember a YouTube channel that used to post gameplay of obscure videogames from Japan but for NES and SNES systems. You could even make a YouTube channel and all.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

No other system will ever touch the PS2s catalogue. So many classics.

Well, I tried to play others, but the console was so old and busted that the results were... lovecraftian, I suppose. Even SOTC lost the ground at times, I was fighting the some colossus in the void.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I remember my first PS2 game was an ATV vs. something.. can't quite remember it.
