if we lower price of console and lose x profit on hardware, will y profits generated in extra software sales make up for it?

Where to make the greater profits, how much confidence do you have in your software sales?

Right now it doesnt look like Nintendo are takeing any chances, and prices will stay as is.

A shame because a lower priced wii u, could probably boost sales by a good bit, its priced way to close to the Xbox One & PS4.

Honestly I hope the NX console, Nintendo save every single penny they can on the system, and make a monster interms of performance/$.

Whatever they are focusing on NX or not - they should cut the price a little and offer some great bundles - digital bundles are great too as long as they are advertised and visible.

A $249.99 Wii U with a couple of graet game one old one new could help moving a few units during the holiday!

I'm still waiting for $100 price cut before I even consider. I was in target the other day and they had a small price cut on a 3D world bundle. I think it was $258 with target card.

It should but since the Wii U is a failure they should probably leave it at 299$ and just try to make as much profit as possible...

With XB1 and PS4 having various sales hitting near the price of the Wii U I would think it's wise for Nintendo to have a price cut.

...unfortunately price cut isn't something that Nintendo's known for (including their games).

They SHOULD by all means of the word. If they sell more consoles at a discount they will make their money back and then some in software sales.

But Nintendo probably wont....
