This is more or less what I was wanting to say, I know the later additions improve upon the originals gameplay but I really just loved the older ones for their story and of course their mechanics and pokemon within each version, Silver holds a special place in my ehart for being my fave pokemon game to date (with Y being behind it of course).

The one issue I have with Nintendo on this is that they still haven't for some reason slapped all the older pokemon games onto the digital store which really just leaves us entirely at the mercy of scalpers or folk who really rhink their used copy is worth hundreds of pounds/dollars, I just want to be able to download the game when I want and play it then and there than chance buying a used copy for a load of money with the fact it's not brand new and the possability of it being broken or non existing as a result.

Even with that I, for example, think that HGSS improved on literally every aspect of the originals. I think that there is not one thing in GSC that isn't worse than what is in HGSS. I'm still annoyed they aren't on VC, though. They are still fantastic, and they are a peice of history for the franchise. One cannot appreciate how far the series has come without seeing where it came from.

I think the issue lies more with TPC than Nintendo itself. They're very weird about that. I think it's because trading is not possible with the way the VC works. I have hope that they may, instead, release remasters of those games with the steps necessary to allow trading. I don't personally care about the trading, but I think they do, and I think that's what's holding them back. Remasters would allow them to get around that while even letting them sell them for more inflated prices.

I'm not even ashamed. I'd pay $15-$20 for a simple remaster of RBY, even without the ability to trade. They could even sell them in packs by generation.

it says earnings not copies so i dont understand why people make a big deal about it. We all know how shady digital games are offered at full price + the entire games profit margin/earning goes all to the publishers and console manufacture. And lets not forget about the DLC and microtransactions

Uh.. what? How is it shady for the games to be the same price, or for more of the profits to go to the actual people making the game possible?

DLC and microtransactions are also present for physical copies and are irrelevant.

yeah but they dont drop in price and let the market decide, instead you have to wait to some random sales with digital games. I like my local stores and retailer more than devolopers, they have to fed childrens too and buying them games you know? DLC is counted in the digital earnings i think

I really think digital sales are pretty significant. Especially bigger games. Digital is becoming bigger and bigger each year

yep, despite those that stick their heads in the sand we should be in the last few years of publishers favouring physical media. Once the tipping point hits in a couple of years where digital passes physical it will be just like the Steam situation on PC. some of the nice benefits should be smaller cheaper gaming consoles and hopefully more competitive digital pricing.

That will happen as early as next year. The NX will be the first major step toward the inevitably digital future for traditional consoles.

Yes, they do drop in price and no offense, but local stores and retailers will just have to deal with it. There were jobs before Gamestop and there will be games after. Progress won't stop because a small subset of people can't adapt.

How will the NX be the first major step?

Spemanig,is utterly certain that NX will be digital only based on a filed patent o f console/device,whataver without disk drive(disk drive free doesn't mean automatically, digital media only)...

Yeah, that's not gonna happen.
