I haven't but why such disdain for those that do? Some of you sound very ignorant about modding and assume piracy and modding are one in the same when in fact they're not. There are things the Wii does not offer that can be added by a modchip.

I hate to be a negative Nancy, but if any of you download music or movies and swear against people who pirate then you are hypocrites. Now I do agree that it can have a more immediate (and negative) effect on the gaming industry than the movie/music industry, but pirating is pirating, anyway you look at it.

I have never pirated a console by the way. One of my roomates has pirated several.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Optimistic predictions for 2008 (Feb 5 2008): Wii = 20M, PS3 = 14M, X360 = 9.5M

I promise you that some of the people here saying they would never mod there Wii have downloaded music/movies/other media for free. Its the same concept really. Just on a slightly larger scale.

I have not modded my Wii. I do, however, own an R4 for my DS though. And in my defense, I also own 14-15 actual DS games, so it isn't like I just download games for free. I mostly use the R4 for imports that are not sold in America.

I was thinking of getting an r4 for media, operating systems, and old nes/snes games. Well I can't decide which one to get r4 or m3. Do you recommend r4? This post isn't about piracy , and it doesn't give links or tell you where  to find roms so I think it is okay.
