Forums - Nintendo - WiiU owners I need your help.

It's sad I call myself a Nintendo fan, but have yet to buy a WiiU.  But I want one, I really do.

My question is are Wii games enhanced enough on the WiiU to make it worth the purchase?  I have a small box of Wii games that I have yet to touch due to time restraints, and I always want to maximize my gaming experiences.  And this was before there was a WiiU.  With that said , I'm hoping any possible enhancements of Wii games on the WiiU are significant enough to warrant a purchase on that alone.  Thoughts?

EDIT: Here are my Wii games thus far...

I hate to tell you, there are no enhancements. It is backwards compatible, so it goes into "Wii" mode, and plays the game in 480p, with the exact same controls and mechanics as on the Wii. Don't expect anything special, but the Wii U is still an amazing system.

NNID: Dongo8                              XBL Gamertag: Dongos Revenge

The only difference is if you use composite cables on your Wii and on Wii U it goes through HDMI and you notice the difference between 480i and 480p.

It adds a safe area border for Wii output. When using the Wii with component cables the image is slightly overscanned on my hdtv. On the WiiU it has small black borders all around, so so you everything and it looks slightly sharper. (I guess it simply line doubles the image to 960p, outputs it as 1080p with small borders)

No other enhancements though, but you do have digital picture and sound at least.

(And you can play Wii games on the Gamepad, but not with the gamepad controls. The gamepad has a sensor bar built in so you can use the wii mote pointing functionality with it)

You don't need to use a TV anymore, and you don't need a sensor bar. That's it.
For every other improvement possible, there is a small number of re-released games on the eShop.

ehm it plays the almost identical,

Ok, Guys. Thanks for all the responses. I already have a third-party HDMI adapter for the Wii, but I was hoping the WiiU would do more if not the same to help my justify the purchase of a WiiU. Thanks again.

You'll have the best experience of Wii games on Dolphin. But there are some nice games on Wii U as well so that alone is worth the purchase.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

It's just BC so it does nada! Wii u is a pretty good system though esp if you a Nintendo fan ( which I'm not, and I still find it good)

Nope.
