| Qwark said: Good news scenario We understand you would like to play Zelda on Wii U and next year that's going to happen with the release of Zelda U. In the meanwhile we entirely remade TP in full HD and it looks great. The game will be 40 bugs and available in december, supporting the tablet ofcourse with off screen play.
Bad news scenario Due to technically complexitie with the game and the hardware of Wii U not being sufficiënt enough. We have decided to move Zelda U to NX, please understand, however have another remake of TP for $60- |
And what's the bad scenario? Because the one you described is not bad. I mean, all of us wants the ultimate Zelda experience and if the new mechanics they found during the delay are only possible on NX then they should go in that way. The game above all of our greedy intentions. A delayed game is good, and if it's delayed exclusively to a more powerful hardware, the better.

I would take either and be happy ( but obviously the top statement) I just really want TPHD

If you can't make the game good enough on Wii U, I doubt they could on NX. There are many very good open world games on the Ps360 so the twins should be able to handle it.
Besides not a single new Zelda on Wii U would be a disgrace for the system and Nintendo as one of the Big 3. So yes delaying an already delayed game to another system because of a BS reason to begin with since the fanbase doesn't care about graphics in the first place. Would be bad news, since many people bought the system knowing a new real Zelda (not a spinoff or remake) would be made.
A game could always profit going next gen, TLOU could have been more impressive on PS4. But thank God Sony choose to push the PS3 to the max and made the best possible game they could with their hardware. Zelda U needs to be the same thing. They can remaster if for NX all I care, but it has to release on the Wii U, if for the name sake alone.
Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

It was delayed a full year only because the Wii version. Aonuma admitted at GDC 2007: "However, if we put Twilight Princess on the Revolution, we ran the risk of those looking forward to playing it on the GameCube. For this reason, we knew that we had to release it for the GameCube as well. But doing so meant developing two versions, a GameCube version and Revolution version, and we knew that it was impossible to create both before the 2005 release as promised. Miyamoto negotiated with the higher-ups, and in the end, while it would disappoint those users who were looking forward to the 2005 release, if we really were able to create a 120% Zelda game that could be played both on the GameCube and on the Revolution, then even if we did release at the time of the launch of the Revolution in 2006, we could make even those users happy. This was Iwata’s response and the decision to create Twilight Princess for both the Revolution and the GameCube."
And this time it's exactly the same. At least it's not as cruel as with TP. |
Yes, but like I said, with Zelda U we still didnt see any logo, name or more trailers, so it seems that delay was really because more development time.

What made you believe that? Because as far as I'm concerned everything is pointing for a TP scenario or moved completly to NX. If it was really only development time that is not a good excuse for not showing it already.

To me there's no reason to delay other than a NX release.
But we'll see in the future if they admit it, like they did with Twilight Princess.
Oh, btw, my comment was making a joke justifying the delay with wishful thinking.

So, the issue came out today and what we got? Nothing.
This game doesn't exists anymore.

Are you serious? .-.
Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Next year will be the 30th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. When Famitsu mentioned this, Aonuma told the magazine:
“This year we wanted a Majora’s Mask concert, so it is not impossible that there may be a 30th anniversary concert next year. However, as we are trying to complete the new Zelda as fast as possible, that is all that is on our minds. That being said, we hope something will take form for the 30th anniversary. It is especially important to a producer of the series, so I hope to give something everyone can look forward to next year.”
Aonuma touched briefly on Zelda Wii U as well. He didn’t offer too much on the subject as one would expect, though he did say the following:
“We’re doing our best. Everyday we improve it bit by bit. It is something that requires plenty of time, however, so please believe in us and wait.”
Just like everyone said before.
