Forums - Gaming - Konami: 'Kojima has not left the company, he's on vacation'

- after reports from The New Yorker which claimed an inside source told of Kojima having a farewell party to both Konami and Kojima Productions, Konami has denied the report.

- Konami said that Hideo Kojima is still an employee and is currently “on vacation.”

- a spokesperson at Konami’s Tokyo headquarters said to Tokyo Sports

“Currently, Kojima is a listed as a company employee [at Konami].”

“Currently, Kojima and the development team are finished developing Metal Gear Solid V and are taking a long time off from work.”

- On the farewell party Konami said:

“We’re not sure what kind of thing this was.”

- On making sense out of Kojima's vacation Konami said:

“Because the development time for console games is so long and fatigues builds up, it’s common for employees to take extended periods of time of when development is finished.”

Do you think Konami may be trying to give Kojima an "eternal vacation" away from Konami?

There is no way this can't be a joke article.

This must be a joke article.

Please tell me this is satire.

Please.

Kind of see this as translating to two possible things.

One, 'Well, we just realized we might have REALLY fucked up on this whole thing, soooo what better way to fix it than to pretend it didn't happen even as we try like hell behind the scenes to get him back."

Two, "The longer we can legally say he's under our employ, the longer we can keep him from doing anything with anyone else, so yeah, he's taking a long vacation! A long, loooong, loooooong vacation. ...during which we will probably not be paying him money. But he'll still be listed as an employee!"

Or It Involves Moving Furniture, in Which Case Zanten, F*** You.

Kinda wish I was working at that company right now because they seem to have access to some delicious shrooms.

I can't decide which is worse - Kojima speculations threads or NX speculations threads.

I've known of contracts by companies in Japan that prevent people from doing business with other companies years after the contract ends/is terminated.

Possibility #3: Someone messed up the sources and this story is false.

Possibility #4: Rumors took over everything fueled by the silence from the protagonists of this story.

I think your first point could be it, but I of course can't claim I know the truth with absolute certainty.

NX threads.

This is actually pretty impressive.

In this day and age, with the Internet, ignorance is a choice! And they're still choosing Ignorance! - Dr. Filthy Frank

If this Konami&Kojima situation would be a movie, this shit would be the plot twist moment right here.

Sounds like a troll article or just rumors.
