Forums - Nintendo - Fatal Frame / Project Zero V first reviews [67 on Metacritic]

Metacritic is not reliable, the game is allready out in japan but where are japanese reviewers? How is it reliable lol?

Around the Network

65 out of 13 reviews :/ I'm kinda speechless, the reviews contradict each other, let's see a few other scores...

Not surprising. The modern survival horror is now more of a TPS with zombies, so when a true old-school Survival Horror come, all reviewers are lost.

The game is probably good, I don't have doubt about it.

Seems to range from really good to average. I wouldn't say there bad reviews just mixed but then so was ZombiU and I enjoyed that game alot

It´s a japanese horror game, after all. No one should expect it to get good reviews from some closed-minded western reviewers.

As for now, there´s a big discrepancy on scores (8,5 - 4,0). Games like that tend to be very divisive in our videogame press.

Anyway, I´m still interested.

Around the Network

make it even more worth the wait!

Switch!!!

Regardless of the low scores, I'd still buy it. I just hope the series doesn't end up like the Silent Hill franchise.

I'm under the impression that scores like these aren't entirely atypical for the Fatal Frame series...
Not that I've done any research...
But I don't remember Spirit Camera being highly regarded by reviewers...

Have a nice day...

It's a sad sight that horror is treated in such way. These games end up being more interesting and ambitious than reviewers give them credit for. Honestly, I haven't read them, but I'll check 'em later and try to get out the common points between all them, to see if there's any conflicting gameplay/story aspect.

Silent Hill 2 and 3 got some extremely good reviews.  Fatal Frame 2 and 3 did a hell of a lot better than this.  Siren: Blood Curse did fairly well too.

I'd say western reviewers are alright with Japanese horror games.
