Nintendo has no Third Party, a gamer plays games and no third party means you're missing out on too much and by the definition are not a hardcore gamer. Love Xenoblade and Zelda, so I consider myself a fan of Nintendo, but I could not only own a Nintendo console until they get 3rd party

Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest, Yo-kai Watch, Bravely Default/Second, Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, etc.

Not to mention games like Mario & Luigi, Luigi's Mansion, SSB4, Pokken Tournament and Genei Ibun Roku #FE are/were made by third parties.

1, By Nintendo I meant the Wii U. 2. Nintendo Owns the Mario, Fire Emblem and part of the Pokemon IPs so that's more like 2nd Party.  3. 15 3rd games compared to missing every western triple A is bad.  Just saying I would like Red Dead Redemption 2, Deus Ex, and Persona on Nintendo consoles.

You said it had no third party support, not that it misses out on a lot of third party support. There's a difference.

Nintendo isn't just Wii U either. Anyway, hopefully they'll go with the fusion model next-gen, that will solve a lot of issues tbh.

I feel like the entire premise of this question is flawed. My god just buy good products people, not company loyalty!

This is the best mindset to have.

Blind company loyalty does far more for the company than it ever does for the consumer.

I would even argue that certain kinds of blind loyalty actually hurt the company too.  I mean look what it did to the X1:

-They still use AA batteries because fanboys said it was better (It so clearly is worse lol)

-The early 5m sales massively skewed their projected success.  At first so many  assumed (Including MS) that they were about to sell 1:1 with the PS4.  But that was just the early fanboy sales, and as such MS had massive warehoused of X1's they had to heavily discount.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

[Prediction Made 6/18/2014]

I doubt the X1 would have sold 1:1 with the PS4 regardless.  The 360 had all the advantages early last gen (better ports, no cell processor, stable online, JRPGS, marketing deals) Sony took away all the advantages with the x86 hardware and the PS3 outsold the 360 eventually because Playstation has been the most popular brand since the PS1 outsold the N64 3:1 (Brand Loyalty).

Sorry, I have to disagree here. I prefer my PS4 to my Wii U. However I buy Nintendo consoles every gen, because I love their games. Zelda is my favourite franchise. I think there are one or two Zelda games I have't played yet. The fact that I like my PS4 more, does not mean I'm not a Nintendo fan.

I didn't not say that...I just put my point of view,if someone plays nintendo games it automatically means that he is a fan of Nintendo...?By the way,Fan comes from fanatic ,fanatics usually are intent to one specific thing...edit:Perhaps,not.

Again,I'm not implying by my post that someone who has nintendo consoles and other antagonistic consoles, and prefers most that console over Nintendo's,can't be a Nintendo fan,(I consider that here the question is the scale not if you're fan or not,in my opinion the title's wording is misguided,as the opposite of true is fake...)

I'm saying that for me that guy is a Nintendo gamer/admirer instead of fan..My brother loves and plays Nintendo games, but he prefer sony consoles and by extend  its games so he is a sony  fan and he doesn't identify himself as Nintendo fan...

Would you fight with a sony fan, defending Nintendo? :P

According to Cambridge Dictionary :

Fan: someone who admires and supports a person, sport, sportsteam

Fanatic: a person who is extremely interested in something, to a degree that some people find unreasonable

You're a fan or you aren't. That has nothing to do with fanaticism.  Not all Nintendo fans consider themselves to be Nintendo fanboys.

I have already answered this,I won't repeat myself/expatiate!

Okay...It seems like that you confuted an argument of mine, maybe a bad one...Which was the least important though,I have put others...

That was an innuendo?

Well being fanboy of a company it's not the best thing but not bad,it's acceptable,of course when is not accompanied by hatred for other companies...

you can call yourself anything you want, and it will be true.
It really doesnt matter, and heres why.

You can stick with JUST brand A all your life, but if you make any comments on brands B and C that are positive, other fans of brand A will jump on you and label you a hater of brand A or a fanboy of either brands B or C because doing so is a sort of coping mechanism.

In short, consider yourself anything you want, it makes zero difference online.

If you game on Nintendo consoles and have fun with them, as well as gaming on Sony's and Microsoft's offerings - you can still be a fan of Nintendo, as well as the other platforms.

If you only game on one platform, that is when you are going into fanboy territory. Fanboys are terrible in any fandom (includes comics, music etc.).

I suppose being a fan is only good to give you some sort of ego.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Who caaaaaaaaaaaaaares!? Like, seriously, what does being a Nintendo fan even mean? Who cares if you fit in some ridged or loose categorization of being a fan of something? Human beings are complex creatures with complex thoughts and opinions. No one is some perfect, card board cut-out, fan of anything. You like some shit and you don't like some other shit. Who cares if that makes you a Nintendo fan or not?

Just like what you like, be happy with that, and go eat a sandwich. Or not. You don't have to like sandwiches, either.

Well it seems like you and most vgchartz users are pretty level headed forward thinking people, something you wouldn't necessarily expect from the majority of gamers. If this was on youtube there would be people exchanging insults and death threats. Glad to see their is no clan mentality amongst the sony, nintendo and microsoft crowd on this site.

I sold my home after I bought my Wii U so I wouldn't be a fan to both shelter and Nintendo at the same time. I'm glad I stayed true.
