Wasn't ORAS announced in the same year it was released in?

I don't think it would be in the Direct (whenever that will be), but hopefully they do add something really new and fresh into the series

Yeah, Pokemon games don't really get announced from Directs

i think in a 2016 holiday launch.
also pokken, pokemon go, mistery dungeon, theres a lot of pokemon until Z.
i think thwy will announce it at 2016 begining

still it's pretty significative since we're talking about a followup to X and Y and in the last few years Directs have grown in popularity

I believe next year is the 25th anniversary. So it will be announced next year

My bet is that it will be announced shortly after the shareholder's meeting for FY2015 results, which is some time in May.

You know, to distract the investors from whatever weak results Nintendo will all but throw out?

There will probably be a big Pokemon announcement/direct where they showcase Pokemon Z, Pokemon GO, Mystery Dungeon and Pokken Fighters.
