i think children have lost all respect for their parents i am a teenager myself so when i see what other kids get away with i am truly stun. what do you guys think the cause of this is and has it change from your mother and fathers daze?

It really is out of hand. About two weeks ago, I saw this little kid tell his mom to "Shut up!" and "Calm down my dear!" in sarcastic and mean tones. It saddens me to see this kind stuff.

Although I don't agree to quite this degree, I do agree with the general point.  There is a lack of punishment of kids today by parents.  Most parents want to be a best freind to their kids and not a parent.  A spanking as punisment when they are still young will cause them to respect athority alot more when they grow up.

 I guess your point is that elders have always had contempt for the youth throughout the ages. I would actually agree with that.

I blame wii fit! But seriously, kids do have less respect for the parents and elders in today's society. I believe this is due to how PC the world has become and therefore spanking and other appropriate discipline is now frowned upon. The parents want to be friends to the kids and not be a proper authority figure. There are a myriad of other reasons, but I am not sure if they stem from or are just mirrored in the culture around the world (especially in Western Countries).
