Forums - Nintendo - Wii U Emulator is out, how this will affect Nintendo?

Just a bunch of thieves who were never going to purchase the system will use it. Shouldn't do anything to sales, or lack thereof... :

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

Will certainly not affect Nintendo or the sales in any meaningful way.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Don't think it would affect them much since it's still really primitive

Things like homebrew would affect Nintendo more

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

I don't see the emulator picking up enough traction in a relatively short span of time.

By the time it gets some recognition, Wii U will probably be yesterday's news.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Yeah, it was struggling to run NES Remix and would not be a viable way to play Wii U games for a few years.

No surprise. Emulation is really hard to do, especially with anything less than a decade old. My PC might destroy a wiiU in raw power, but it's not gonna emulate a wiiU very well.

It won´t affect nintendo

Can it load the WiiU BluRays?

Anyway, the emulator will do f*** all to affect sales by it's competence in running the games, but I know there will always be stupid people who go "eh? there's an emulator??? I don't need to buy the system when I can play the games on PC!!!!"

The Wii U will probably be discontinued when it can run games at full speed.

The recently released USB loader may boost the sales a little when it gets as good as the ones for the Wii, but not in a meaningful way.

4+ years from now, when its ready to play most games semi decently..... it wont matter, because nintendo wont be selling the Wii U anymore.

I think people blow things out of proportions when it comes to emulation.

Doubt it really hurts sales much of anything, when its always a gen or 2 behinde what the actual consoles have out.

You'll need to update your PC A LOT to run this emulator near full speed... it's like 8 to 24fps :-/ and does not seem close to be complete... yet, it could change that, I recall the first time I tried a SNES emulator on a 486, it showed only a few sprites, no background! but we were amazed by it, and a few years later we had near perfect emulation for this machine (on faster machines obviously).
