I don´t think Metroid is gonna be a lauch title sadly, I actually think they haven´t even started a new Metroid for homeconsoles.

No Metroid game if Tanabe didn't lie here:

No mainline Metroid before 2018.

Offcourse he didnt told true.
That Interview was right after E3, Nintendo certainly wouldn't say if they working on new Metroid Prime and not showing it, or saying on this years E3 "yes new Metroid Prime is in work but we will showing it for one year and its for NX platform you dont know anything about and that we will be revealed to next year too".
I am pretty sure that new Metroid Prime is in development from 2013-2014, very likely moved Wii U project to NX and 1st years NX game. Saying that, we will see new Metroid Prime on E3 next year.

Just imagine how sucsessfull their e3 2015 would be if they showed twilight princess HD, Pikmen 4 and so on. All the hate and damage they recieved could be prevented sooo easy^^ |
They could show Pokken Fighter for Wii U too, but from some reason Nintendo said that they showed at E3 only games that are coming in near future (6-9 months), but maybe after Star Fox get delayed they decided to release TP HD in 2015.

You have to realise that most of the staff that worked on Metroid Prime are no longer with Retro Studios. The current Retro Studios has little to no experience with Metroid games, so it's not logical to expect them working on a Metroid game. They're talented, that's for sure and I'd love to see what their next game is, but I don't think that a Metroid Prime game is likely. I think Miyamoto (or Reggie, can't remember) even said once that the team at Retro Studios is now big enough that they can handle two projects at once, so who knows what they're up to. More on Metroid Prime, Kensuke Tanabe, the producer of the Metroid Prime series, said that even if they were to start this year working on a Metroid Prime game, it would take them at least three years to complete. He hasn't been able to gather a team within Nintendo big enough to tackle a big game like Metroid Prime, which suggests that Retro Studios wasn't under consideration for Metroid Prime 4, or they simply weren't available, who knows? There's a small chance that Sakamoto, the producer of the main Metroid games, has been working on something, but there's no evidence to support that. Anyway, I expect something new from Retro Studios, don't think it's another DK and I'm sure it's not Metroid.
Seems like something big is happening next week because there's a major maintenance for Wii U and 3DS: http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=181743474 Maybe the DeNA account system?
I think there will be a Direct before Monday that also talks about Twilight Princess HD.

Please, he wouldn't give Eurogamer an interview and say that hasn't been able to collect a team or the resources to do a Metroid Prime game if there was a secret one in development. He would say nothing at all.
I think a high-budget Metroid isn't on Nintendo's priority list because the sales don't justify the development costs.
Maybe a sidescrolling Metroid from Retro is a possiblilty, but I doubt that.

Agree with you.
And by the way, few days ago I was thinking how wonderfull would be if Retro made Metroid 5 with the Tropical Freeze engine, it could be a truly gorgeous 2D Metroid game that make long time fans of the franchise very happy and since it´s a 2D game it could be relatively cheap to do so it would be easily profitable on WiiU. Sadly is not gonna happen... I would cry of joy though.
