People not understanding basic math, and that in order to 'catch up' to something you have to be beating it. It doesn't matter how much faster you run, you're not going to catch the person infront of you or gain ground on them if you're not running faster than they are.

Thanks I forgot about that one.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

A small minority of MS fans saying users need potty training for some new awkward MS product. That's far beyond condescending, it's arrogant and offensive, and I'm not surprised that most of those using that phrase are fans of Ballmer not just as a comedian (and dancer ).

Stwike him, Centuwion. Stwike him vewy wuffly! (Pontius Pilate, "Life of Brian")

What other games?

NDC? I played some of the original games on the PS3.

GoW 3: R? I played the original game on the PS3.

Until Dawn? It has scare jumps. That's when you know a horror game failed.

As does FFZ, another reason of many. it's like people stopped even trying with horror games at the turn of the millenium.
Is Friday Night at Freddies, which amounts of nothing more than a indie jumpscare fest, really the best people can come up with these days?

its a sore subject, horror is my favorite genre, so i have been let down by horror games pretty consistently for a decade now.

What are your favourite horror games? Did you liked Soma?

It's not really a phrase, I'm just tired of people obsessing over what does and does not constitute a "AAA" game.

Any phrase that's positive towards MS/Xbox

Any phrase that's negative towards Sony/Playstation

Any phrase about Nintendo in general

Phrases about the Ouya, leave the damn thing alone.

1. I don't think user base is relevant when not taking into consideration the releases on the system. 15M having to choose between 2 games for the game is very different from 25M users having to choose between dozens of games.

2. New IP. So? Nintendo marketed the hell out of this game, especially to the younger audiences. It will outsell The Order 1886. Dunno about the others, certainly not Infamous:SS - all games which did not get anywhere near the marketing that Splatoon got (on top of releasing between multiple third party heavy hitters).

3. So, like Driveclub then? And no one said that there's a correlation between sales and metacritic.

4. No, it wouldn't have bombed like TW101 since Nintendo was really pushing the game.

5. Something new? It ripped off the concept of The Unfinished Swan and turned it into a TPS.

Ultimately, good on the game for selling 1.6M with heavy marketing and no competition.

So when a Nintendo console game doesn't sell well and didn't have a hug marketing campaign, are you going to remember this post?  Will you blame the low sales on the lack of marketing or your usual 'Nintendo gamers only buy Mario' bit?  Because you sure seem to be adamant that the only reason it sold so well is because they marketed it a lot.

Nintendo first party games usually do get a fair amount of marketing though, just that Splatoon was Mario-level of marketing.

And no, the only reason is not because it was marketed a lot but also because it had no competition.

Many other games had no competition on the WiiU and yet they are not going to sell 1/3 of what Splatoon did, and that´s including a lot of strong Nintendo franchises. Splatoon was freaking brilliant and people realize about it so it was a success, get over it. The fact that the real hype about the game started once people tried the beta says it all.

Ironically games that dont even set out to be horror titles, LSD (PS), Shadow tower (PS), Shadow tower 2 (PS2) things like that.

I find games are most effective at setting a tone when they arent all out trying to do so.

Well, you cannot buy a game if you don't know about it.
