Maybe. But Halo and FPS is bigger in UK. What do you expect? 2 Days of UCC suddenly tops Halp MCC's sales of 5 days and during November. Lol

This is Sony's big 1st party holiday exclusive though. It shouldn't have these underwhelming numbers. There are people betting on if it will outsell Rise of the Tomb Raider. We'll have to see how it turns out but the numbers might be a little closer than predicted.

UCC was never Sony's big 1st party holiday exclusive, that was UC4.  Sony wisely moved it out of the holidays due to an already stacked slate of really big 3rd party titles coming out.  Fallout 4 + Star Wars > Tomb Raider + Uncharted 4

Ummm... Not sure how that's relevant to this dicsussion lol. But if you like, then the reason NDC exists is because Sony thinks it'll sell enough to make a nice slump of money, and will generate some hype for UC4. The amount of people that have migrated from the 360 and Wii (40% iirc) is of course relevant to the sales potential of NDC, and it's also relevant to the sales of UC4 (those 40% wouldn't want to play UC4 without having played UC1 and 2 and 3, right?). The reason is because they think it'll make them money. This shouldn't surprise anyone. That's the same reason MS are making Forzas annually, and why they made the MCC. It's why Nintendo have made at least one 2D Mario for the last 4 consoles they've made. etc.

Why would Sony need to excuse them making the NDC? Let's be real here, very few people are genuinely angry at Sony for remastering their most popular current franchise, and the sales impact from those few people are so miniscule Sony couldn't really give two shits about it. For Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo, and any other big company out there, the money talks. Not the forums. It's not like Apple cares about all the flak they get for having overpriced phones, they make wads of cash and are the highest valued company in the world anyway.

I brought it up because I was talking about install bases. They have all these new gamers (40%) and non-Uncharted players (40%) yet they don't jump on one of the biggest Sony franchises? Meanwhile, Xbox One has a majority of people who have already played Halo. Yet they still got MCC. There's gotta be another factor at play for the lower sales with the vastly larger install base.

Well considering Driveclub outsold Halo MCC in UK last year.

They replaced UC4 with the collection so that's why I said that. It's their only 1st party title this holiday isn't it?

Ok? Not sure what you're saying here.

Um, no they didn't.  UCC was already announced, and in the pipeline.  They did not push UC4 back and suddenly announce UCC in it's stead, that's false.

And while it's their only 1st party title launching in the holidays, they've released plenty this year, and coupled with the other massive titles releasing in the holiday, they're going to murder their competition, yet again.  Microsoft 'might' win a few months around the holiday, but Sony's strategy of playing the entire year is quite clearly winning this gen.

The non Uncharted players that owned a PS3 are pretty easy to explain. They had the opportunity to play it all last gen and didn't, so chances are most of them just aren't interested in Uncharted. The other 40% are in a similar situation:

a) They aren't interested in Uncharted (When 2 thirds of the PS3 owners that have bought PS4s didn't play Uncharted last gen, it becomes rather obvious that a lot of these PS4 owners that didn't own PS3s wouldn't be interested in Uncharted either). I'd think that there should be a larger part of previous 360 and Wii owners that don't have any substantial interest in Uncharted, simply because if they had been substantially interested in Uncharted, they'd have bought a PS3.. So I'll estimate that 80% of the 40% that owned Wii/360s aren't interested in Uncharted. the remaining 20% of the 40% new users makes up 8% of the total PS4 userbase. Even that is likely too much, which suggests I've been highballing my estimates.

Last but not least, there is a very obvious reason: Halo is a bigger franchise than UC, especially in the UK and the US. Halo 4 had a 2.9 times higher first week than UC3 in the UK. MCC had a 2.5 times bigger first week than NDC (as you can see, the ratio has decreased a bit, which is likely due to the differences in PS vs Xbox installbases this gen compared to last, so there you have it).

Are you honestly surprised by this outcome (MCC on top by a large margin in the UK)?

Some games just don't sell during its launch week.

Not true at all. Uncharted 4 was delayed in March. Nathan Drake Collection was announced in June

Right, so a 3 month gap between the delay and announcement is suddenly interjecting UCC in it's stead?  And, we're to believe that it takes 4 months to remaster 3 games?
