Wow. I actually didn't expect to be attacked like that by you Zen. Surprising.

It's a brave new world, my friend.

As for the topic at hand, I hope we can agree to disagree.

My original post wasn't, in fact, trying to debate anything, but instead give my sentiments on the subject, and I got drawn in. Forgive my crude manner, and know my intent was honerable.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I think everyone's missing the point here.
Education reduces crime.

It's true that criminals can easily get a gun while law abiding citizens...
Perhaps an option to own a gun after certain level of education and safety training will help.

Actually, it looks like everyone here favors some sort of gun control. And no one is willing to go 100% with the Constitutional 2nd Admendment.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

How can I say that? Easy.

Ignore the first half of the admendment, as many do, it boils down to "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

It doesn't say you have to take a test and pass it. It mentions nothing about getting any training. Nothing about age, mental stability or criminal behavior (as in already in jail).
It says if you are people, you can keep a weapon.

Anybody willing to go along completely with that? No? Neither am I. So now it is just a matter of how much gun control we have, isn't it?

But even if you did go along with complete freedom of any arms under the 2nd admendment, I don't suppose you would allow me the option of having my own personal tactical nuc as my arms to bear. Talk about respect. Note how not one country has officially attacked another country that has nuclear arms. 'Officially' meaning with full combat of their military. Been that way now for over 60 years. That's a better record than either full gun control or no gun control.

Torturing the numbers.  Hear them scream.
