I haven't bought them on Steam yet. I'm a bit put off by the 30 fps thing. I own the Japanese copies though because waiting for western releases is for chumps.

Here's the history of game prices in the U.S.:

Games are cheaper than ever.

But what about content? Well, has that guy ever played old 8-bit & 16-bit games? They weren't exactly bursting at the seams with content. Except for JRPGs, most games back then could be reasonably beaten in one to three hours. Action games with massive open-worlds offering 40+ hours of content in a single playthrough was something that just didn't exist 20+ years ago.

By any objective standard, on average we are probably getting the best value for our money from mainstream AAA experiences.

Glad somebody beat me to saying this. Kudos for being knowledgeable

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

you are wrong...

if something is worth the asking price is subjective.  value itself isnt. moar stuff=moar value-  the point when you say well this isnt enough for what you ask for, fuck you EA differs from person to person.

No I'm not ...

In this context they are the same ...

Not even going to click the link. Last time you made a thread with a youtube link without a name, it was Crapgamer. I think no more needs to be said.

First, gaming has never been cheaper. I'm amazed that new games are still $60. I used to play the same games over and over when I was a kid because I couldn't afford more.

Second, while some games are short, other games are absolutely massive. Games like Skyrim, Dragon Age, or Far Cry have a staggering amount of content compared to older generations. It's not like anyone who thinks value is important is out of options.

Personally, there are very few games I'll pay $60 for. Something like The Order, as mentioned in the video, isn't worth $60 to me. However, if someone else wants to pay $60 and believes the game is worth that amount, then more power to them. I have no problem with that. Even better, I have a fantastic method for getting around that--I simply wait until the price goes down. It's super effective.

:o it's so obvious! How come people have never thought of that before?

'Cause I'm always one step ahead of the game.

Also, standard advice used to be, "calm down and think," but now it's, "stay upset and post a video on youtube."

the decline of AAA value is mostly just the consumers inability to expand its own horizon and instead sticking to the same experiences over and over again.

This is a good video and I urge you to watch it.

Some companies could take more time to polish and debug their games but other than that, I'm pretty happy with the games I play the vast majority of the time. I didn't watch the vid because it's just another youtuber wanting some clicks by trying to rouse the flames.
